We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Politics and Morality

Political action will not change people spiritually. Moralistic preaching did not help Sodom. The only thing that will change a Sodomite is repentance and faith.

The only thing that will change a sinner, is repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, alone, for salvation. Our Savior is our only Mediator between our Father and us, of which this believer is truly thankful.

There are those human beings who seem to think they can erase one's name from the Book of Life, thankfully there is only One God who has that infinite power. And for those of us who know Him through Jesus Christ, there is no fear of man.

These quotes are thought provoking Glen!

Martha,

Repentance is NOT necessary for salvation. That is a work. Too many people want to add conditions to a childlike faith in Christ for salvation and brag about what they can do before God.

Cowardly anonymous,

You are in error. If you aren't repentant, then you don't seek a savior. You seek a savior because you learn that you are a sinner and you repent of it. Without repentance, for what would you need a savior?

Dear anonymous troll seeker,

Before I was saved by Jesus Christ, we were never taught that one must admit their sins and repent of our sins before a Living Christ. Nope, not even in our so called "confirmation classes" let alone from the pulpit. It just wasn't an important point to mention in the church.

When I began to read the Scriptures for myself, my Father, was beginning to do His Work within my soul, and I hungered for truth, because I wanted to know it for myself, instead of having everyone else around me tell me what to believe.

With that said, I became born again in my thirties and haven't looked back to my lost state, I still love truth from the Word of God, allowing the Holy Spirit, to teach and mold me.

These few verses still ring true today, dear anonymous, for they have not been done away with under the New Covenant. Please check these out in your Bible and allow His Truth to touch your heart:

Matthew 4:17
Matthew 3:2
Mark 1:15
Acts 3:19
Luke 24:46-48
Acts 20:20-21

And dear anonymous, Glen happens to speak truth to you here...."Without repentance, for what would you need a savior? Spot on! It takes humility to realize that we are sinners so in need of a Savior, thus repentance is required as spoken of by our Savior Himself, in acquiring His Free Gift of Salvation. The worldview of "no repentance necessary" is based solely on secular humanism, which many a church promotes these days, thus religious abuse/spiritual abuse of all kinds is rampant.

Jesus Ways are so different and far above the way of mankind, dear troll.
