We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

A Wild Agglomeration

Here we go again, folks. A few articles about discernment then a whole bunch exposing false teachings/teachers. Hold on to your hats!

A good article about discernment.

Culture Transforming the Church. Something to think about and be aware of.

4 Verses False Teachers Take Out Of Context.

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is as anti-Bible, anti-Christ, anti-God as it gets. The whole psych field is the antithesis of Christianity.

Chris Tomlin. Don’t help finance him by purchasing his materials. By helping Tomlin you are helping to spread heresy.

I often wonder is Beth Moore is a false Christian.

How false teachers twist Scripture to justify beliefs.

Another wolf to be aware of—Sean Feucht.

OH, the blasphemy of “The Chosen.”

Hillsong proves it is more about the world than about the Lord.

Not to be outdone by Hillsong, Bethel’s “pastors” are more and more ridiculous and blasphemous in their claims.

Another “pastor” playing a false, lying, worldly game. Disgusting racism pretending to be virtue as he feeds LEFTIST propaganda in the name of Jesus—BLASPHEMY!

This is a perverted satanist who is part of The Gospel Coalition. TGC doesn’t even know the Gospel.

Kat Kerr proves again what a wicked false prophet she is.

A Brief Roundup of Pastors and Pastrixes Headed to Hell #7. And here’s another one going to hell.

The Episcopal Church long ago became apostate and heretical. Another example of how bad they are is this blasphemy.

Joel Osteen— what can I say to this?!? Neither he nor his wife are true Christians.

Last, but not least, Rick Warren is a horrid false teacher. I don’t have time to watch the 3 hr video (and I’d guess most of my readers don’t either) but the list of issues with Warren is all the proof you need against him.

The Good - For Education and/or Edification

I’m looking for my life to settle down eventually so I can start writing articles again vs just sharing links to other articles.  Now, I do think it is important that these links are shared so more people can be educated not only on the bad stuff happening in the church, but also on the good teachings available for edification.

I’m still doing lots of medical tests and within the next two weeks I will be finished with tests and then wait for surgery to fix a torn tendon in my rotator cuff. So it seems as if we are not home much, which can be easily seen in the weeds over-taking the gardens!

Well, with all that intro, here is another collection of links to interesting articles. I hope you will find the articles to be worth the read.

Is the Gospel No Longer Enough for Black Christians?  “Social Justice” has no place in the Christian Church.

Thought-provoking political article — How socialism violates all Ten Commandments. Although I disagree about violating the law of the Sabbath, because Christians don’t have a Sabbath, and Sunday isn’t the Sabbath anyway.

Proper, correct church discipline!

What is a cult?  Signs to look for.

Is the Apocrypha Scripture? NO!  There are errors. There are other good reasons to reject it. Three early church “fathers” had things to say about it.

Psychiatry — told ya so!

“Sexual Orientation” is a psychological concept and not reality. Analogous to “alcoholism” instead of drunkenness.

Was Jesus tempted by homosexuality?  Of course not — but the LEFTISTS defending homosexuality wants you to think so.

Have a wonderful weekend!

When Sin is Called Sickness

Sin is the core issue on which the Church is commissioned to speak.   We can no more have a gospel without sin that we can have a gospel without Jesus Christ.  To evade sin and responsibility is not new, but it is dangerous.  By suggesting there is another explanation for troubles and difficulties, the devil deludes us and sabotages the gospel.

The medical model of sin is dangerous because it damns people.  It undercuts social morality.  In a day of high crime and antisocial behavior, calling sin sickness undermines the individual's responsibility to control his behavior.  The disease model actually inflames behaviors.  It legitimizes, reinforces and excuses sinful behaviors and attitudes in believers and unbelievers alike.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

As a follow-up to the Liberty University fiasco of having Glenn Beck teach Mormonism, Mormonism Research Ministry’s blog has a two part article explaining the problems with the incident.  Part 1 and part 2.

Rick Warren’s support for Roman Catholicism is nothing less than apostasy.

The Emergent/Emerging movement has also been playing around with Roman Catholic mystical teachings, including the heretical idea of the RCC’s Eucharist.

Lighthouse Trails Research has a good reference source for identifying organizations promoting the contemplative/mysticism movement.

The latest target of Tim Challies’ series on false teachers is Creflo Dollar.  He’s another of those wealthy Word of Faith teachers who have gotten rich off of suckering his followers.

James MacDonald has a book out, which Gary Gilley reviews, exposing MacDonald’s false teachings.  MacDonald has succumbed to the popularity cult.

About 2 1/2 years ago I wrote a series about how the psychology and psychiatry industry was diametrically opposed to Christianity.  Answers In Genesis has posted an excellent article, “A Christian Response to the Crisis in Psychiatry,” which I think is a good follow-up.

Arch-heretic Jim Wallis and his cronies have always claimed to be Christian while at the same time teaching opposite of what the Christian faith teaches.  Their primary focus has been on the “social gospel” and promoting every left-wing political agenda.  Now they’ve “come out” unabashedly as pro-homosexual.

Wallis and his ilk promote the idea that there can be such a thing as a “gay Christian.”  Answers In Genesis has a good response to this oxymoron.

With many “churches” succumbing to the homosexual agenda, it is important that we, as true Christians, continue to stand fast on the Word of God and what it says about homosexual behavior.  While some suggest that there can be a neutral stance, Albert Mohler explains why there is no “Third Way.

Psychiatry Is NOT Scientific

The following was printed in the July 2013 issue of The Berean Call.  The link to the original article is at the bottom, and that article has a wealth of information about the fraudulent nature of psychiatry.

Evolution News and Views, 5/8/13, "How a Scientific Field Can Collapse: The Case of Psychiatry" [Excerpts]:
Psychology has long struggled to be considered scientific, given the checkered history of its eccentric pioneers, like Freud and Jung. Each of the contradictory theories emerging from psychology has struggled to do better at prediction or explanation than the "folk psychology" ordinary people use to gauge the motivations and behaviors of their fellow human beings. And the recent cases of outright fraud among some of social psychology's leading lights (examples in the New York Times and Nature) have made the field suspect, some would say a laughingstock as science.

Psychiatry, though, was supposed to be better. Its practitioners had to earn an MD. It had a widely accepted, peer-reviewed guidebook, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), published by its professional society, the American Psychiatric Association. With its focus on observable symptoms, presumably rooted in biology, it had all the trappings of science. The things being said about psychiatry now, though, on the eve of publication of its latest upgrade, the DSM-5, are revealing it to be a science in crisis-if it ever was a science at all.

DSM-5, [which came] out on May 22, is the latest edition of the official diagnostic "bible" for psychiatrists that had its genesis in 1952. DSM-5 removes some diagnoses, like Asperger's syndrome, reclassifies others, and adds a number of new conditions that are, to most of us, just weird: like "Skin Picking Disorder," "Sluggish Cognitive Tempo," and "Compulsive Hoarding." What about the new "Hypersexual Disorder"? Are psychiatrists just giving excuses for irresponsible behavior? Is psychiatry "cutting nature at its joints" or just manufacturing artificial pigeonholes?

According to Nick Craddock, professor of psychiatry at Cardiff University, also writing for New Scientist [says], "Not since Freud's pseudoscientific theories early last century has psychiatry claimed any broad theoretical basis for making sense of our normal and abnormal feelings, thinking and social behaviours--the complexities at the heart of being human." In other words, psychiatry never made it to scientific status in the first place. Its claims remain "atheoretical," he believes, even though he is optimistic its day will come.

David Dobbs's review in Nature of Gary Greenberg's new book, The Book of Woe: The DSM and the Unmaking of Psychiatry, is the most devastating critique of psychiatry as a science. Dobbs writes under the headline: "Psychiatry: a very sad story." He notes that a century ago, psychiatrists considered "masturbatory insanity" and "wedding night psychosis" as mental illnesses. That those categories were dropped and new ones added in the interim suggests psychiatry lacks scientific footing, and instead evolves according to cultural norms. Yet the APA vigorously defends DSM-5, partly because it relies on sales for revenue. Greenberg is not just an outsider. He participated in a clinical trial. "The process proved so convoluted that he wanted to apologize to one patient for the 'inadequacy, the pointlessness, the sheer idiocy of the exercise,'" Dobbs writes.
