We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

About “Mother Teresa”

Pope Francis proclaimed Mother Teresa a saint on September 4th, the anniversary eve of her death 19 years ago. The world needs to know that God is the only one who converts a sinner to a saint. Of all the references to saints in the New Testament, they were all alive both physically and spiritually. They were made spiritually alive in Christ and were all members of the household of God (Eph. 2:5- 19). It is God alone who chooses and calls His saints out of the world to be sanctified or set apart as new creatures in Christ (1 Cor. 1:2; 2 Cor. 5:17). Mother Teresa cannot be a saint in death because she was not a saint in life.

Mother Teresa did not believe or proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation. She encouraged Hindus, Muslims, and Buddhists to be better Hindus, Muslims, and Buddhists. She never pointed people to Christ as the only savior, mediator, and redeemer. Instead, she taught a bizarre 'pseudo-pantheism' in which she believed Jesus was present in everyone. In her book "Life in the Spirit: Reflections, Meditations and Prayers," she wrote, "We never try to convert [anyone] to Christianity, but in our work we bear witness to the love of God's presence, and if Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, or agnostics become better men, we will be satisfied."

The widespread perception that Mother Teresa sought to relieve the suffering of the poor was the furthest thing from the truth. She believed suffering would help the poor make satisfaction for their sins. She said, "There is something beautiful in seeing the poor accept their lot, to suffer it like Christ's Passion. The world gains much from their suffering." This theology is consistent with Roman Catholicism which declares the sinner must "make satisfaction for" or "expiate" his sins by doing penance (Catechism of the Catholic Church, para. 1459).

At the end of her life, Mother Teresa doubted the existence of God and heaven. In her private letters she wrote: "Lord, my God, you have thrown [me] away as unwanted and unloved. I call, I cling, I want, and there is no one to answer, no, no one. Where is my faith? There is nothing, I have no faith." Yet, in spite of her lack of faith and her rejection of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this unbelieving agnostic has been declared a saint.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

It's that time again, but you may ask why we apologists report about the false teaching and false teachers -- TO EXPOSE THE WOLVES!

The Polemics Report has coined some terms to describe new heresies.  Some are just new “technical” words for well-know heresies (such as Word of Faith), but I found these to be worthwhile:
Theoerosism — “erotic love for God.”
Vinism — Gay theology

The “Code” used by Steven Furtick and his goat-pen, Elevation Church.  I wonder if they even know what the Bible is?  H/T to one of my readers for pointing me to this article.

You can’t make this stuff up.  Be sure to read all the way through to see even the stuff about Lisa Bevere.

The Pope continually proves he has no clue about the Christian faith or the things of God, as he kowtows to all the LEFTIST ideology.  There is no evidence than man can do anything to change our climate, yet he has bought into all the leftist talking points and has declared it a sin against God.  If you aren’t an environmentalist, you are sinning according to him.  The Pope teaches the social gospel on top of the heretical Catholic doctrines.  Of course promoting all the LEFTIST ideologies just helps promote the one-world religion.

Mother Teresa is now a Catholic saint — but was she a saved Christian?  Sadly, the answer has to be, “no.”

Listen to false teacher Ed Young talk about how you need to tithe.  I’m still trying to find where he gets his support without twisting Scripture.

Andy Stanley — Again.  He really needs to get another job.  Here is another excellent review of this sermon.

A troubling situation developing with the joining of two cultic groups.

I’ve previously addressed the fact that Jeremiah 29:11 does not apply to the Christian, rather it was about Israel and only Israel.  Many people have discounted my article because I’m not a lettered theologian.  Okay, so let’s hear Gregory Kouki say pretty much the same thing I’ve said and perhaps people will finally accept the truth.

More proof that the “Church by the Glades” is nothing more than a goat-pen full of self-worshipping goats.

More proof that the ELCA denomination is totally apostate.

Just a reminder that there is a good site exposing the dangerous false teachings of “Adventures in Missions” and “The World Race,” as well as the leader Seth Barnes.  If you’re like me and never heard of this stuff before, get the word out to those who need to know.

The Seventh-day Adventists don’t like the idea of hell, so they’ve erased it from their “Bible.

Skip Moen, one of the movers and shakers of the Hebrews Roots Movement, denies the Trinity.

A good article about what has happened to the Church since the “emergent” movement began, which just added to the already corrupt social gospel.  He even names some of the vicious wolves.

It’s a nightmare — Perry Noble says he’s coming back to being a vicious wolf!  (I disagree that he is an “alcoholic” or suffers from “alcoholism” — this malady was invented to take responsibility away from the individual by calling it an illness.  The Bible calls it drunkenness.)

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

I wasn’t a bit surprised to learn that Rome was considering “sainthood” for “Mother Teresa,” even thought it is really doubtful she was a true Christian.  Over the years I have read much of the universalism she taught, and wondered why she was never condemned for it by Rome.  Ah, but doncha know her good works saved her?

This review of “War Room is easier on the movie than others I posted, but he does demonstrate real concern for the spiritual warfare taught.

IHOP had their annual circus this past weekend.  How very sad that these young people think they have to go to IHOP to “encounter” God and get their “spiritual highs” among the “worshiptainment” they will find there.  HT to Erin.

InterVarsity has decided to join the LEFTISTS with supporting the racist, socialist “gospel” of the Black Lives Matter.  God sees all lives mattering, but not BLM — they denounce you for saying “all lives matter.”  The racists have been demonstrated to be on the side of the blacks overall, much more so than with those with lighter skins; BLM is NOT the route to “racial reconciliation.”

The slippery slope of liberal Christianity.

Six reasons not to follow Christine Caine.  You only need one— she’s a heretic.

Tell the person next to you, “F-You!”?!?!  I have to agree with the Museum of Idolatry’s commentary.

No matter what they say, there is no such thing as “Holy Yoga.”  Yoga is a Hindu religious practice, totally incompatible with Christianity.

Lots of false prophets with lots of false prophecies for 2016.

Mary Dalke has an outstanding, well researched post about the descent of Moody Radio into all things New Age.  Sad to hear this, since for the 17 years we lived in the Chicago area we found Moody Radio to be a great source of good teaching.

Final Chapter about Bill Gothard’s ATI.

What’s wrong with The Passion TranslationLOTS!!!

Larycia Hawkins can’t understand why Wheaton college would fire her just for saying Muslims and Christians worship the same God?!?   She said “Wheaton College cannot scare me into walking away from the truth (that) all humans — Muslims, the vulnerable, the oppressed of any ilk – are all my sisters and brothers, and I am called by Jesus to walk with them.”  Um, NO!  They are not all brothers and sisters if they are unbelievers (John 8:41-47).  Hawkins teaches that the unholy god of Islam is the same as the Holy God of Christianity — this cannot be allowed to take place in a Christian college.
Several religious leaders, including the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Ahmed Rehab of CAIR Chicago, the local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, expressed their support for Hawkins.”  Religious leaders they may be, but neither one is a Christian, so their opposition to Wheaton’s actions has no value.

Finally, it’s really saddening when you can’t trust Ravi Zacharias to be discerning. If he isn’t able to personally discern where he is erring in supporting false teaching, how can we trust him in general?

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

Christians and Muslims do NOT worship the same God.  I don’t know why this has to even be a topic of conversation among supposed Christians — they should all know better.

National Geographic is wrong: Mary is not “the World’s Most Powerful Woman.”  What the article demonstrates is the idolatry of Roman Catholics with their false Mary.

Speaking of Mary, the idea of conceiving as a virgin did NOT appear late in history; it was a doctrine taught from the very beginning.

And, as I’ve noted in my article about Mary the mother of Jesus, if she was so “immaculate,” then why did she need a savior?  Rome is WRONG!

These students only demonstrate the results of liberal education.

Mother Teresa a saint?  I don’t think she was even a Christian.

Recovering Grace’s examination of Bill Gothards’ Advanced Training Institute now includes chapter 4 and chapter 5.

Another apostate Catholic priest; why is he not defrocked and excommunicate?

Serve beer to get more young people to church?!?!?  It’s an old story, but I just saw it, and it is just another example of a worldly group pretending to be Christian.

Priscilla Shirer’s new book isn’t one to be “fervent” about.  No surprise.

It IS TIME to say goodbye to Priscilla Shirer and Going Beyond Ministries.

Robert Gagnon certainly knows how to respond to those promoting homosexuality in the Church.  I highly recommend his book, “The Bible and Homosexual Practice: Texts and Hermeneutics.

Doug has a great article exposing why Steven Furtick is a goatherd with false teachings.

More examples of T.D. Jakes’ false belief system.

Christmas productions by big “churches” aren’t even free - they charge for tickets.  Please explain where this is found in the mission of the real Church (Especially with all the Santa stuff)!  They remind me of what Jesus said about making the temple a place of business as he ransacked the vendors.

Not only do many Christians take Bible verses out of context, but I just learned of a song taken completely out of context by deleting all but three verses — I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.

Speaking of Christmas, here’s a great collection of videos to help understand the truth about Christmas.
