We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Odds and Ends, Good and Bad

The Brothers That Wrote a Sixth of the Psalms.

The Rise of Christological Heresy. Good explanations of some well-known historical heretical ideas about Christ.

No True Christian … Part One. Make sure to allow the Scriptures to say what a Christian is.  No True Christian … Part Two. Use proper hermeneutics to determine what Christ taught.

No, Mark didn’t invent the “sea” of Galilee. An excellent study to rebut those claim this.

Shrimp and Homosexuality—is God’s view of both the same?

Silly Putty Bible Study.

Has The Church Always Had An Ordained Priesthood?

More LEFTIST myths about Jesus. Was he tolerant of wrong-doing or evil? Was he a political centrist?

Spiritual abuse and Sovereign Grace Ministries led to a very sad situation for a deceived woman.

These priests should be defrocked.

"Christian Psychics" Shawn Bolz and Chris Reed are heretics deceiving people. This 34-minute demonstrates how these guys and their ilk do their “parlor tricks.”

Agglomeration Time!!

I just can’t keep up with all the horrid false teachers/teachings which come across my email and discernment news items. Paul’s second letter to Timothy sounds just like today’s “church” culture: For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Tim.4:3, NIV)

Of course I also come across some good stuff to share, and that is how I’m starting this post.

A good, short, exegetical study of 1 Timothy 2:12.

Cult information — Jehovah’s Witnesses false teachings.

Is the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the Christian life?

Yes, Christians can celebrate Halloween “trick-or-treating” without getting involved in the occult.

More about The Chosen and Mormonism.  More about the series is something viewers need to be aware of. Then there is the Mormon influence and control of The Chosen. Which is probably why there is so much heresy and blasphemy in the series. Yet Christians continue to praise it and finance it by watching it. There is also another heretical influence—the actor playing “Jesus” consults with the dead!  Seems like there are plenty of warnings about this horrible series.  How about one more!

Is there really a New Apostolic Reformation? Yes.

Watch for NAR adherent Lance Wallnau.

Bible-Believing Liberals. Excellent article, which really points out problems primarily with Rick Warren and Willow Creek, but also noting others such as the UMC, George Barna, C. Peter Wagner, John Shelby Spong, Joel Osteen, Bill Hybels, et al.

The Democrat Jesus.

Then there is Kris Vallotton:

Did you know that God has a dream? And other false teachings by false pastors.

Almost daily I learn about another false teacher/“pastor” and wonder what sort of people hire them and follow them—they certainly cannot be true Christians. In reality, they are of the same ilk who allow this satanic blasphemy in their assemblies.

More proof that T.D. Jakes is a blasphemous wolf.

Max Lucado has gone from bad to worse; he is a false teacher to avoid.

Exposing the Wolves

I’ve been quite busy with gigs, doctor appointments, work around the house, and then a few days vacation to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the day we married. So getting time to do much “research and development” for articles has been slim, and will be for a while.

However, I’ve decided to do a post mostly about people — the false teaching wolves who are preying on the sheep of the Church. First, though, I thought I’d give you the Top 10 Ways the Bible Opposes Illegal Immigration

When it comes to these wolves, some are kookier than others and some are more vicious than others. Just be alert!

Michael Gungor, an influential one-time “Christian” music artist needs to be avoided at all costs.

Max Lucado— Homosexual enabler, false teacher, joiner of social justice culture.

Matt Chandler crashing off the rails.

David Taylor, TV fraud.

David Herzog sings loves songs to Jesus as he lies about what “spiritual songs” are.

Hank Kunneman of One Voice Ministries has some wacky ideas about coronavirus vs. abortions.

With charismania we even have a “prophetess” who dies but is resurrected when enough money is put on her.

Tim Henderson has opening and closing heavenly portals.

Mark Taylor is one of those with odd ideas about “chemtrails.”

Jen Hatmaker — this woman has no clue about real Christianity — or real life.

Still think Hillsong isn’t a dangerous cult?

Lastly, don’t send your kids to an Episcopal summer camp. They aren’t Christian.

Distressing Things Within the Church

Let’s start with a look at the investigation into Ravi Zacharias’ “Decades of Sexual Abuse.” On top of this report we have learned that he lied about his credentials. Although he was a brilliant teacher, I could never, ever again recommend anything he has written.  Here’s another article on the topic.  No one should try to defend him.  The last word about Ravi from Elizabeth Prata.

The only evidence you need to prove Tim Keller is a false teacher.

STOP using satanic practices; don’t even play with them!

Todd Bently is back. This heretic, blasphemer of God, and false prophet continues to prove how bad he really is. These claims of visions are either bald-faced lies or from the demonic world. At any rate he certainly isn’t a believer.

More on the cult of Hillsong. And still more.

NO CHURCH should allow Hillsong, Bethel, or Elevation music into their assembly.

Thabiti Anyabwile has become “woke.” And it you don’t agree with him you are “ravaging churches” and causing “re-segregation.” Stay away from him.

Yes, Joyce Meyer is a horrid false teacher.

The “gospel” of the New Apostolic Reformation. Keep away from this heresy.

Watch out for pro-sodomy theology.

Several times on the blog I have warned about the false teachings of Max Lucado. This article is another perfect example of how Lucado seeks to appease sinners.

Beware the false prophets and false apostles!

Let’s end with an excellent sermon about discernment, and the pastor doesn’t shy away from naming names!

Odds and Ends

Clint Adams has a good book review on Biblical Eldership, by Alexander Strauch. Clint does a lot of excellent book reviews.

POISON IN THE WELL

Max Lucado gets worse and worse. He is a bonafide false teacher who should not be listened to or read.

Another false teacher to be avoided at all costs: Joseph Prince.

Hillsong’s Carl Lentz continues to lie about Jesus as he sinks deeper and deeper into heresy.

The there is Bethel Redding’s Bill Johnson. There is nothing good which comes from Bethel

Agglomeration

The Good - For Education and/or Edification

No, the communion wafer is NOT the flesh of Christ, regardless of what Francis Chan says.

HMMMM
Tongue-speaking Mormons.  Just shows that “tongues” with charismatics are just as false.

More Wolves and False Teachings
All you need to know about false teacher Michael Brown. There is NOTHING Biblical about his theology.

A review of a book examining the descent of the Episcopal Church into total apostasy.

Francis Chan has gone full-blown heretic. Here’s a good response to Chan (I disagree with Calvinism, but the history explained in this article is very interesting).

The Anglican Church continues its deep dive into total apostasy.

One of my readers felt that the link to the video of Abi Stumvoll at Bethel Reading didn’t properly represent the particular teaching in that it left out a sentence: It sounds like she is saying God can be like the puss explosion. I went to the longer 30 minute version. She is saying God is like the heat. At around 1:20 or so, [here] is the excerpted version.
And, [here] at 8:35 in the original, she says that God is like the heat. Big difference.
The reader agreed that it is a “terrible ‘sermon’” and even noted that the Stumvolls are “tight” with William P. Young, the author of the heretical book, The Shack. For my part, I didn’t give a whole lot of thought to the “puss explosion” because the whole segment was awful. But when you put a woman teaching the assembly in a church which teaches lots of heresy, let alone aberration ideas, then this is what you can expect.

Beth Moore continues her false teachings, now attacking John MacArthur.

Aside from being a heretic, the Pope is a complete disgrace to any semblance of the Christian faith.

I’ve warned before about Max Lucado’s touchy-feely theology. This is what you get with that kind of theology. This is the guy who praised the “Son of God” movie, who promotes heretic Christine Caine, preached at Joel Osteen’s goat pen, and took part in the “Be Still” video.  Another look at the situation, a bit more in depth.

The dangers of “charismatic conditioning.” Todd White and his ilk are such horrid false teachers! And Francis Chan is doing his best to emulate them.

This is what happens when you attend an apostate church.

The Bad and the Ugly

Yesterday I posted the “good,” so today you get the “bad” and the “ugly” in the Christian culture.

The Bad:
Francis Chan continues his spiral towards apostasy by teaming with false teachers and the cult of IHOP.

The delusion so many Christians are under.  What a waste of time and effort!

Willow Creek just goes from bad to worse—now they have a woman lead pastor!  When did this become acceptable?

David Barton — not to be trusted in any of his teachings.

Some names to know for avoiding, because they are showing their contemplative beliefs.

Max Lucado continues going off the deep end.

The Ugly:
Ah, the heresy and apostasy of the PCUSA.

Brian McLaren’s “new Christianity” is dangerous paganism.

Perry Noble remains as unrepentant as ever, and as unbiblical as ever.  Mark and avoid him like the plague.

Harry Potter as sacred texts — I guess it’s no real surprise.

Todd White claims to be sinless.  And he claims Jesus went to Hell, which is typical Word of Faith heresy.

Al Sharpton — there is nothing “reverend” or even Christian about him.  In addition to his fruit
exposed in this article, Sharpton is also an ardent racist and a zealous socialist.

More blasphemy from Jim Bakker.  And yet his followers are still loyal to him.

Yes, Bill Johnson and Bethel Redding teach a different, FALSE, gospel.

The demonic “Mary” of the Roman Catholic Church.

Random Apostasies and Heresies

Satan never sleeps, and it seems every day he comes up with more and more ways to deceive not only the world, but also Christians.  After all, deceived Christians can be sidelined so as to be ineffective at spreading the Gospel, and they can also be used to spread the deception.

As my last post showed, the new “Son of God” movie is not anything Christians should be spending money on to see, nor should they be promoting it.  There are so many false teachings in it!  But that doesn’t seem to matter to Mark Driscoll - his church bought out more than 3500 seats [link gone by Sept 2020] in their area.  Guess who is also endorsing this madness — Rick Warren, Andy Stanley, Max Lucado, Joel Osteen, and T.D. Jakes.  These men have no business being shepherds when they feed garbage to the sheep (of course Osteen and Jakes are rank heretics to begin with).

Then there is Steve Furtick, who seems to think HE is God!  Maybe that’s because he gets so many people baptized.

I’ve never heard of Ed Stetzer before, but I learned this week that he is the president of Lifeway Research, which is part of Lifeway Publishing, of the Southern Baptist Convention.  He has seen fit to begin hosting Praise the Lord on the heretical Trinity Broadcasting Network (or, as Ken Silva calls it, Trinity Blasphemy Network).  When you view this article, you will also several other names mentioned - people involved in all sorts of false teachings.  One of these is Lifeway’s darling and favorite false teacher, Beth Moore — who has a new series in which you can “hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church and every believer seeking their full potential in God’s Kingdom.”  And I thought we had the Bible for that!

Very often I get commenters who ask me if I have personally confronted the teachers I expose before I write about them.  I am told I am required to do so by Matthew 18.  Of course I point out that Matthew 18 is about personal sin - how you confront someone sinning against you.  Public false teachings require public denouncement.

I was shocked reading THIS ARTICLE today - the Pope thinks same-sex civil unions should be tolerated because they would be good for economics.  Fine, corrupt society but be sure to provide those who practice deviant sex a good economic status.  Of course they have the same economic access as normal people do, but apparently that’s not good enough for the Pope.

I consider the proper hermeneutical approach to the Bible will lead to a complementarian view of the roles of men and women.  There are those on the liberal side of biblical interpretation who have decided we need to look at how culture is to properly understand that the Bible teaching egalitarianism.  Well, this article from The Gospel Coalition provides excellent evidence for the complementarian understanding of roles.

To end today’s edition of RA&H (an abbreviation a commenter used - which I like) I will point to some articles about the Mormon Church.  First, it appears the LDS is revising more of their previous teachings, this time to say that they really can’t be sure what “becoming like God” means, even though historically it has been understood to mean that a man can become a god of his own planet.
