We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Satan Slithers Through the Church

Don’t listen to “Christian” social justice warriors’ eisegesis of the Bible.  They only want to deceive you into following another gospel.

The Pope says if you criticize the Roman Catholic Church you are “friends of the devil.”  He has it backwards — the Roman Catholic Church is an organization of the devil.

More information about the situation with Harvest Bible Chapel.

What you should know about Angus Buchan.

Real Christians could NEVER support abortion, which is why we know these “religious leaders” are followers of Molech.

Thaddeus Matthews is a wolf, a goat-herd with a congregation of goats who continue to believe he is a pastor.  This man blasphemes Christ by claiming to be a shepherd.

The Gospel Coalition is spiraling into apostasy.

Clayton Jennings has gone from bad to worse!

Jen Hatmaker continues to proves she worships a different Christ and a different God from what you find in the Bible.

Obviously not a real Christian University.

The Bad and the Ugly

Yesterday I posted the “good,” so today you get the “bad” and the “ugly” in the Christian culture.

The Bad:
Francis Chan continues his spiral towards apostasy by teaming with false teachers and the cult of IHOP.

The delusion so many Christians are under.  What a waste of time and effort!

Willow Creek just goes from bad to worse—now they have a woman lead pastor!  When did this become acceptable?

David Barton — not to be trusted in any of his teachings.

Some names to know for avoiding, because they are showing their contemplative beliefs.

Max Lucado continues going off the deep end.

The Ugly:
Ah, the heresy and apostasy of the PCUSA.

Brian McLaren’s “new Christianity” is dangerous paganism.

Perry Noble remains as unrepentant as ever, and as unbiblical as ever.  Mark and avoid him like the plague.

Harry Potter as sacred texts — I guess it’s no real surprise.

Todd White claims to be sinless.  And he claims Jesus went to Hell, which is typical Word of Faith heresy.

Al Sharpton — there is nothing “reverend” or even Christian about him.  In addition to his fruit
exposed in this article, Sharpton is also an ardent racist and a zealous socialist.

More blasphemy from Jim Bakker.  And yet his followers are still loyal to him.

Yes, Bill Johnson and Bethel Redding teach a different, FALSE, gospel.

The demonic “Mary” of the Roman Catholic Church.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

The Good:
Captivated Through Philosophy and Empty Deceit.  Excellent review of popular false teachings from popular false teachers.

Chuck Missler, as well as many others, claim that there are secret messages in the Bible which can be found by discovering “codes.”  Here’s a good article examining Missler’s nonsensical “discovery.”

Steven Furtick’s church now has a water-slide baptismal — it must be true, because I saw it on the Internet.

The Bad:
New Calvinism is worse than the old Calvinism! Tim Keller is representative of their apostasy.

Michael Brown continues to prove he is a false teacher.  Scripture says NOTHING about any time one shouldn’t be exposing false teachers.

Beth Moore is again exposed as a teacher to really, really avoid.

Leonard Sweet — another one of those “only love matters” false teachers.

Roman Catholic superstition never ceases to surprise me. And they claim this stuff is “Christian”!!

The Ugly:
I guess Clayton Jennings thinks tooting your own horn while doing good works makes up for his abuse of women. Moody Radio interviewed this horrible example of a believer, but to their credit, they apologized when they were told what a predator he is.

Bethel Church’s Bill Johnson’s SOZO “ministry” is very, very dangerous.

Bethel Redding and SOZO.  Long video, but very informative about such horrendous false teachings.

Bethel, Hillsong, and associated false teachers are going to “bring Heaven to Earth.”  Just  look at the names of the participants to know who to avoid.

Random Things Needing Discernment

Rick Warren’s wife Kay is now professing to have a vision from God.  She’ll tell you all about it for a fee.

Transubstantiation — what did Jesus really mean?

The Shack.  Book, now a movie, is about as heretical of a story as you can get.  I know the video is long, but very educational and eye-opening about how garbage like this spreads.  (Incidentally, Kent Hovind, a KJVO creationist teacher, promotes this heresy; Hovind is one I’ve long said was a bad teacher, and this proves it.)

Watchman Fellowship profile on The Shack demonstrates why the book and movie are theologically problematic.

Another excellent examination of The Shack.  It’s a 55 minute sermon, but well worth it. H/T to Mary Dalke
Doing missions without the gospel?!?

More evidence proving Jennifer LeClaire is a horridly false teacher — and what a totally unbiblical mess is Charisma Magazine!

A cornucopia of Beth Moore’s false teachings.  I love it when people put all this stuff in one place.  The sad thing is that she’s coming to Cedar Rapids and many local churches are advertising for her!  No discernment at all in the leadership of these places.

Wow - Clayton Jennings’ victims are being blackmailed and threatened!

Be very careful about getting any theological teachings from celebrities such as Tim Tebow.  Like Tim, these celebrities usually have no discernment and no concern for protecting the flock.

Which Jesus does your Roman Catholic friend believe in?

The very sad state of so many churches out there today; it is no longer about Christ.
An atheist saw my article about Ravi Zacharias and emailed me about my concern.  This man has also been concerned about Ravi, but his concern is with Ravi’s credential claims.  He has a site dedicated to exposing false claims by Ravi; I reviewed his material and I have grave concerns over what he has exposed.  Ravi isn’t the first popular teacher to embellish his credentials, but it is really sad to see that he has done this.  For all his good teachings, I can’t see recommending him or his ministry as long as they don’t come totally clean; if you can’t trust him in such actions, how can you trust anything he says?

Some very good reasons to avoid any teaching by Sam Storms.

Random Things Needing Discernment

Cru, aka Campus Crusade for Christ, is now financing and promoting abject heresy!!!

On thing that is proof you have a goat-herd leading your “church” is that he will focus on sex to attract more goats with titillation.  Here’s another example.

“IF” Gatherings — spreading false teachings like wildfire.

Really, really beware of the false prophet/teacher Jennifer LeClaire.

If your church leaders attend the C3 conference, you need to find another church.

Another article about tithing, for use the next time your church says Christians are supposed to tithe.

The Real Tim Keller.  Can you say “false teacher”?

Catholics and their worship of Mary as another god.

The continuing saga about apostate Clayton Jennings.  The guy just doesn’t quit his nastiness.  Ah, but his female fans virtually worship him.

The Berean Examiner has continued the series of testimonies by those who have left the NAR.  Just browse the site.

Let’s see, a “Christian” establishment is helping Muslims to worship their pagan god?

Matt Chandler and his Village Church are to be avoided; discernment there is lacking.

Another poor CCM song examined.

More proof that the United Church of Christ is a totally apostate organization.

A reminder about what goes on at The World Race.

Dave Ramsey should stick with financial advise and leave the Bible alone.

Random Things Needing Discernment

Lots of things in the news this past couple weeks which need to have warnings about.  Hold on to your hats!

Steven Furtick, narcissist.  Real Christians should avoid him like the plague while he can feed his goats all day long.

Perry Noble is being revived with the help of another false teacher, Steven Furtick.  Wolves run in packs.  (I hate to bust Noble’s bubble, but “alcoholism” isn’t a disease.  It’s a lack of self control.)

The World Race and Adventures in Missions has connections to IHOP — go figure!

Interesting article about Billy Graham’s apostasy over the years, and how it developed.

Pastor Gabe examines another “contemporary Christian” song, “Above All”, demonstrating problems with the lyrics.  We’ve sung this in the past at our former church, prior to me examining songs on my blog.  I agree with Pastor Gab, and never really liked it.

“Christian astrology” is just as much of an oxymoron as is “Christian psychology.”  Scattered Sheep has an excellent article explaining problems with the idea of the gospel in the zodiac, and the false teachings of the “soothsayers of the Second Advent.”

Seven types of false teachers in the church today.

I just have to share this one about false teacher Shawn Bolz.

The New Apostolic Reformation is getting nuttier by the day.  Another example of their nuttiness is this “prophecy.”

For those who haven’t been around enough to know about heretic Jim Bakker, this should give you a good laugh — he spent time binding demons in hell so Trump would win the presidency!

Gloria Copeland is just as much a heretic as is her husband Kenneth.

It’s gotta be true because I saw it on the Internet.

Fred has another episode in his review of the book, Navigating Genesis.

So what happens at a goat pen on Super Bowl Sunday?  Something from Satan.

There is no such thing as a “prayer language” — NO SUCH THING!

Dr. Oz and “Faithful Fridays” — talk about the devil’s workshop!!!!  Priscilla Shirer and Carl Lentz will be deceiving more and more people.

Another church is giving the unrepentant predator Clayton Jennings an open forum.  What is wrong with these people who are supposed to be shepherds?!?

Well, that’s it for now; make sure you still have your hats!

Random Things Needing Discernment

Can you imagine Paul telling Christians to visit pagan temples and hear pagan teachings and worship so as to understand them?!?!?

Doug Evans has a good article about Montanism — which is a heresy revamped by NAR/Word Of Faith adherents.

Jerry Falwell, Jr. is one name I’ve not previously mentioned on this blog so it’s about time I did, considering his latest actions. I guess since heretic Paula White was praying at the Presidential Inaugural, perhaps Falwell wanted on the popularity wagon?  Falwell said this “pastrix” “exemplified what being a Christian woman is about.”  (SHUDDERS!)
And Falwell considers those who expose heretics such as White to be “Pharisees.”  I guess he doesn’t know what a real Pharisee is.

This has to be true because I saw it on the Internet.

The continuing important saga of Clayton Jennings.

Divinity schools are selling out God to satisfy man’s culture.

Elevation Church, the cult of Steven Furtick gets worse daily.

Beware of a new “Christian” book by Bethel Church “senior associate leader” Kris Vallotton.  Pure heresy.  (That Mark Batterson endorses it says lot about him!)

A reminder about avoiding the cultic “Passion Translation” of the Bible — it’s no better than the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ “New World Translation” because it is a translation made to support false teachings.

Another false prophet I’ve not previously heard of, Lance Wallnau; pay attention to how he comes up with his false prophecies (no, it’s not satire, regardless of how it sounds).

I’ve stated before that Michael Brown is lacking any real discernment when it comes to false teachers — he promotes way too many of them.  Now he’s promoting Word of Faith heretic Joseph Prince.  Brown is not to be trusted for any teachings about theology.

Discernment alert — this looks like a heresy fest!

Assertions and Assumptions are NOT the Foundation of the Church.  Be careful about accepting any of them.
