We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

What’s Keeping Me Busy!

Well, my only posts lately have been my reports on false teachers/teachings and reports of some good stuff. The past couple months have been difficult on my attempts to get some writing done due to several things.

One issue was a million doctor appointments. Due to a fainting spell I had during a band performance in January, they did a zillion tests, including X-Rays, sonogram, heart catheterization and two weeks with a heart monitor, to decide if I had a blockage. When that showed clean it was to the neurologist for MRI to see if I had a tumor. Back to cardio where it was finally determined I have vasovagal syncope (determined by seeing that I had a similar event in the fall of 2009).  Along side of that I apparently hit my shoulder on a table or else hard on the floor when I went down, and I just thought it was bruising and ignored the pain until April when I went to the doc. He suggested physical therapy but I didn’t want to spend the money and figured it would go away. By the first of June I decided the pain needed to be addressed and went to PT; after only four sessions which increased the pain, the doctor decided it was possible I hurt the bursa so he gave me a cortisone shot and told me if it wasn’t better in four days we’d consider an MRI.  Guess what, MRI it was and discovered a torn tendon in the rotator cuff!  Now I wait to see an orthopedic surgeon.

Meanwhile, I had almost 1200 photos to edit (and deleted at least 300 during the process) I had taken at four aviation events: Airshow at Davenport, IA (1:15 to get there) on 6/29; a restored B-29 bomber visiting the Cedar Rapids Airport on 7/12 (12 miles away); an event in Janesville, WI (192 miles) with the other restored B-29, a B-24A, two P-51s, PT-13, AT-6, OH-6 and supposed to have the C-47 (fully restored to its WWII condition) which led 800 planes on D-Day dropping paratroopers, but it had a mechanical problem at Oshkosh and wouldn’t be there until the next day; another event in Waterloo, IA (1:25 drive) with another B-24, a B-17, TF-51 and a TP-40.  Now that’s a lot of warbirds to photograph!  And photographing military/ex-military airplanes has long been a hobby of mine.

So, I decided to share some of the photos from all these events so you can see what took me hours and hours to edit and log in! Photos from the airshow will be first and if you have any questions about aircraft identities, etc, feel free to ask. (If you had enough money, they were giving rides at except at Davenport!)
This next shot is of the B-29 arriving at Cedar Rapids.
This next group are of the planes at Janesville.
And now for the last event at Waterloo.
If you'd like to see lots more of my photos from over the last few decades, including military/ex-military, antique civilian planes, civil planes shot for aircraft recognition training, and lots of civil planes because with a digital camera you don't have to print them (and I got my first digital camera in November 2006), you can peruse my gallery here:

I have over 12,000 photos there and that doesn't include zillions of airshow shots!

More Wolves and False Teachings

Hot off the press this morning — Josh Harris, the homeschool and courtship cults’ darling, has decided that he isn’t a believer after all.  First he announces his divorce from his wife, and then he announces (the most likely reason for the divorce) his total apostasy from the faith to the point of sanctioning the GLBTQYZ agenda, including “marriage equality.” It’s sad how he once had some good ideas jumbled with legalistic ideas, putting many Christian youth into spiritual bondage, and now has thrown even the good teachings away. There is some smoldering history behind the defection.

More proof that the United Church of Christ is not a church of Christ, but rather a church of Satan.

The Catholic Church—total apostasy in the making.

Using discernment with “Christian” magazines.

Beth Moore seems to be going soft on homosexuality. Sigh. The full time-line of Moore’s hole being dug deeper.  Elizabeth Prata has a good commentary about the situation. Of course homosexuals are rallying around Moore!  More thoughts about the Moore imbroglio by Justin Peters.

Michael Brown — WOW!  And “DOUBLE WOW!” He is getting deeper and deeper into aberrant and blatantly false teaching.

Kenneth Copeland is a dangerous wolf who, if he doesn’t repent, will spend eternity in hell. There is absolutely NO reason any real pastor needs a private jet. He fleeces his congregation of goats (certainly not sheep) and even talks to Satan in prayer!

Living Out ministry has some BIG trouble!

It’s really sad when solid Bible teachers continue to appear at conferences, etc, with well-known false teachers. The information about John MacArthur was new to me, as well as very surprising. The only way I see as being legitimate to attend along with false teachers is to use the opportunity to EXPOSE THEM!

I don’t know if Steven Furtick can get much worse, but the man does not appear to be a true Christian.

The Episcopal Church is sinking lower and lower, blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

Can Believers Manipulate the Power and Presence of Christ?  The short answer is, “NO.”  Several names of false teachers are included.

This video is a perfect example of why Mark Batterson is a false teacher.  Remember him — Circle Maker tripe?

Stop reading Ann Voskamp!  She is a dangerous heretic.

Now HERE’S a list worth perusing! Teachers and teachings to avoid, OH MY!

I never cared much for the music of Casting Crowns, but now there is an excellent reason to avoid them — why support false teachings?

Some Articles for Edification and/or Education

As I do with the reports about wolves and false teachings, I also like to periodically share links to articles I found to be informative in many ways.  These are the links I have collected over the past few weeks.  I hope you find them as interesting as have I.

What does the Bible say about purgatory?

What does the Bible say about misogyny?

Did God command genocide in the Old Testament?

How do we know the Gospels were written prior to 70 AD?

Excellent response to “transgender” ideology by John MacArthur.

Is the Bible Pro-Choice? Simple answer — Absolutely not.

I don’t normally get into discussions about evolutionism, but this article is just too good to not pass along. Bill Nye is NOT a scientist and yet claims to be one. Good article.

More Wolves and False Teachings

I’ve been hard-pressed to even think about blogging due to the many days I am not home for the past few weeks.  Many reasons which can’t be avoided lead to being home overnight but during the days the gardens are neglected, housework gets behind, and blogging gets forgotten. When we are out with all the necessary reasons, we will usually have lunch at a fast-food place, but sometimes we will have enough time to actually sit down at a better restaurant; 20 days in June we ate out!

I do try to keep up with news items of apologetic nature when I DO get a chance to breathe, so I have collected a goodly number of links to articles which warn you about wolves invading the Church as well as the Internet, people who need to be avoided for spiritual safety. So buckle up and go for the ride.

Joel Osteen continues to demonstrate his rebellion against God.

Francis Chan should be avoided like the plague.

I’m really tired, and saddened to see solid Bible teachers and pastors continuing to use Tim Keller’s material or cite his teachings in any way. Christians should be pointed away from this false teacher, not to him.

This apostate PCUSA church is using the world to attract young people to church.  Go figure. And it gets even worseAnd worse.

An example of all that is wrong with The Gospel Coalition.

Beth Moore obfuscates a response to the open letter. Then she praises and promotes false teacher Eugene Peterson!!! The woman has absolutely NO discernment.  Just how bad does she have to get before her followers leave her?!?!

The charismatic day of infamy, June 23, 2008.  What a day of aberrations and heresies.

So why is this bishop still with the apostate Episcopal Church anyway? They punish him for not being as apostate as they are!

Kevin Mannoia is not an “evangelical,” rather he is an apostate thumbing his nose at God.

Another example of the apostasy within Hillsong’s goat pens.

Michael Brown continues to prove why he is a false teacher.
