Yep, it’s that time again for a scary post!

Talk about leading children astray!!  This is the spiritual danger from heretics like Rodney Howard-Browne.  (And this doesn’t even consider that she’s a young woman “preaching” and “teaching” to the entire congregation of people — who are just as deceived — when Paul clearly says this is forbidden to women.)

This is an example of what happens to people who abuse God’s Word to make a mega-church (with an assistant leader as a woman) with a cult of personality. Glyn Barrett demonstrates why he is totally disqualified as a church leader.

An interesting article about the Hutterite sect.  I hadn’t studied the Hutterites (although I have heard of them) so I did a wee bit of “Googling” to get some information and found this National Geographic article. [link gone by 7/18/18]  I see a lot of similarities between them and the Amish and Mennonites, especially with some legalistic practices.  Apparently there was a television program by National Geographic which didn’t set well with some of the Hutterites.  Of course this is common when cultic groups are examined.  Wikipedia has a pretty good article about the history of this sect.

It really shows the sad state of the Church at large when after only five days my collection of stories for another “RAAH” post has made it necessary for another post!

First, let’s look at what you should look for in a church (i.e., a local assembly).  I have to agree with Randy, in that I couldn’t attend the majority of assemblies out there.

There’s been a big brouhaha about a recent survey about people leaving churches in droves.  I really think the case is overstated, but it isn’t fundamental Christian assemblies they are leaving.  People are leaving apostate assemblies, but also those who are truly seeking God aren’t finding it with the seeker-sensitive and market-driven varieties.  In addition to this, however, is the fact that most of those leaving the Church were never believers to begin with!  Matt Walsh suggests it’s just because they are being “bored to death.”

I’ve recently discovered a new blog titled, “Guarding the Deposit.”  I have found it to be a good source of reports about what’s happening in the Church today, as well as some teachings about discernment.  I give a hat tip to this blog for the next four items.

Christine Caine has been on my “radar” for quite some time, since she’s just another one of those false teachers who so many love to listen to.  An excellent example as to her lack of discernment is this post where she lays her hands on a Joyce Meyer Bible seeking “an impartation of that teaching anointing & revelation.”  Need I say more?

Cindy Jacobs, another false teacher I’ve previously reported about, now claims that the “Lord’s Prayer” is really about Dominionism.

Now, moving on to other sources, Lifesitenews, a Roman Catholic site, never ceases to amaze me with how many reports they have about apostate Catholic leaders who still hold their positions.  Pope Francis seems to be quite liberal in many ways, one of which is his recent appointment of Timothy Radcliffe “as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.” This man is a staunch advocate of homosexuality, and thinks homosexuality “can be expressive of Christ’s self-gift.”  ?!?!  Then there is the Catholic Relief Services president who thinks homosexuality and same-sex fake marriage is just fine.  And then there is the Irish bishop who says one could support same-sex fake marriage with a clean conscience!  Why none of these people are not excommunicated is beyond my comprehension.  The RCC really needs to get the issue of homosexuality under control.

Oh, and did you know that the Pope now has the power to forgive abortion?

Wheaton College, an ostensibly Christian institution, now allows homosexual student groups on campus.  What is it with everyone jumping on the bandwagon of supporting 2-3% of the population and its sexual perversions?!?!

Finally, long ago when “Game of Thrones” first began broadcast, I saw reviews which said it contained lots of nudity and sexual immorality.  And yet it has become so popular that I see mention of it about every where!  The sad thing is that so many Christians talk about how good the series is!  I’d like to see them justify to Christ why it is okay to enjoy being entertained by such sin.  Matt Walsh has a great commentary on the topic.

The Emergent/Emerging movement has also been playing around with Roman Catholic mystical teachings, including the heretical idea of the RCC’s Eucharist.

The latest target of Tim Challies’ series on false teachers is Creflo Dollar.  He’s another of those wealthy Word of Faith teachers who have gotten rich off of suckering his followers.

James MacDonald has a book out, which Gary Gilley reviews, exposing MacDonald’s false teachings.  MacDonald has succumbed to the popularity cult.

About 2 1/2 years ago I wrote a series about how the psychology and psychiatry industry was diametrically opposed to Christianity.  Answers In Genesis has posted an excellent article, “A Christian Response to the Crisis in Psychiatry,” which I think is a good follow-up.

Arch-heretic Jim Wallis and his cronies have always claimed to be Christian while at the same time teaching opposite of what the Christian faith teaches.  Their primary focus has been on the “social gospel” and promoting every left-wing political agenda.  Now they’ve “come out” unabashedly as pro-homosexual.

Wallis and his ilk promote the idea that there can be such a thing as a “gay Christian.”  Answers In Genesis has a good response to this oxymoron.

With many “churches” succumbing to the homosexual agenda, it is important that we, as true Christians, continue to stand fast on the Word of God and what it says about homosexual behavior.  While some suggest that there can be a neutral stance, Albert Mohler explains why there is no “Third Way.”
