We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Agglomeration

Yes, it's time share links to articles I've read over the past few weeks, articles which are for edifying and articles exposing false teachings--all good for knowing what's going on in the Church as well as Satan's counterfeit.

Stan gives an excellent teaching refuting the whole claim about homosexuality not being condemned in the Bible or by Jesus.

Along with the above, this article explains the whole problem with the movie 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture and its misrepresentation of Scripture. Learn how to defend Scripture against those who try to pervert it.

Excellent “Correct-A-Meme”!

Historical Background On The Use Of Altars In The Roman Catholic Church. Excellent history lesson.

Extortion through tithing.  As I noted in a post two years ago, nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christians should tithe their money. For Christians we have one passage that speaks of giving money, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7: He who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully shall also reap bountifully. Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. (NAS) It is wicked and greedy “pastors” who demand tithing, and even more wicked to make it a guarantee of prosperity.

Kathryn Krick—a horrible cult-leading, wicked false teacher.

Joyce Meyer. SIGH! She will meet her maker soon and find out just how unsaved she is.

A fairly new YouTuber, Gavin Ortlund, is just another LEFTIST theologian who should not be followed.

In the wake of the Alistair Begg teaching regarding attending same-sex fake marriage, we have a question regarding attend a “same-sex” baby shower.  The advice given relies on scripture-twisting.

Another horrid false “prophet” of the NAR, Tomi Arayomi.

The actor playing Jesus in the blasphemous “The Chosen” believes he’s on a mission from God. So does God really want blasphemous teachings about Jesus to be popularized?!?

Did you know cessationists are ungodly? Neither did I, but heretic Mark Driscoll claims such.

Joel Osteen is nothing but a cult leader (NOT a Christian), suckering his followers into giving him millions of dollars.  Joel Osteen’s church is getting missionaries to visit them—must be true, I read it at The Babylon Bee.

When a Christian college, Wheaton, goes LEFT it can no longer accurately call itself Christian. I’ve reported on Wheaton four times, as far back as 2015, and all they’ve done is get worse.

Another Agglomeration

Things are really getting evil out there as Satan continues his invasion of the Church. Many of the evil is from the “usual suspects.”

Brian Houston and Hillsong. Sigh.

Another Hillsong sex scandal. Cults and illicit sex go hand-in-hand.

Just what you’d expect from the heretical and apostate ELCA church.

Catholics are really getting behind and promoting the whole sexual deviant ideology. Satan is doing another work in that institution.  AND, it is not just in Canada. So why is this guy still a member in good standing, let alone a Cardinal?!?

Just when you thought the Methodist Church couldn’t get any worse.

Exposing Jack Hayford as a false teacher.

A perfect example of how deeply the culture has invaded the Church. The faculty are wolves, not sheep.

Joshua Harris has joined with Satan. How very, very sad. This is the result of being member of a cult (Gothardites).

Why NO ONE should fly the LGBTQXYZ flag.

Beth Moore — again!

False teachers joining together to support false prophets. These are all wolves, ladies and gentleman.

Francis Chan has gone totally off the rails. He is a dangerous teacher. Here’s another example. And Part 3.

When your “pastor’s” children think a heretic wrote parts of the Bible, you know that “pastor” is also a heretic.

Alerts About False Teachers and False Teachings

A review of an interview with William Lane Craig demonstrates problems with the theology of some who are acclaimed as top-notch apologists. I, personally, would never point anyone to Craig for defending the faith.

James MacDonald escapes the consequences of his actions!  The leaders of Harvest are not acting biblically. MacDonald should never again exercise any leadership roles in the church.

Another false teacher/heretic seem to be born every minute.  Kevin Zadai is a new one on me!

Another example proving the Pope does not represent ChristAnd another one: he is promoting violation of laws. Do we really need more proof that the Pope is not a Christian?

The Gospel Coalition has continued their slide into apostasy, and now they are assisting the forcing of children to not have two parents.

Black Hebrew Israelites — a dangerous, racist cult.

Russell Moore has gone beyond the pale, and has been promoting apostasy and learning from false teachers.

Todd White has proven he isn’t a Christian, but a tool of Satan.

Proof that Hillsong is an heretical organization.

Mark Driscoll is still a dangerous wolf.

Andrew Wommack — beware that he is just another vicious wolf.

Do not trust the teachings of David Barton.

A Bit of Humor
A funny way to make a very good point about “worship” music.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

Way too much stuff collected to wait any longer!  And it has been a very busy week away from home with ER visit, doctor visit, wedding rehearsal and the wedding later today!  But the apologetics ministry never sleeps.  Lets look at what I’ve come across this week.

The Good:
Falling From Grace.  Good article about the false teachings of the need for Christians to follow O.T. laws.

Responding to skeptics’ attack on Mark 2:26.  Part 1 and Part 2.

A good history of false teacher Aimee Semple McPherson, the person who originated the Four Square Gospel Church.

What’s the purpose of pastors?

The Bad:
Beth Moore called down fire from heaven.

Another reason to distance oneself from John Piper’s teachings.

The Ugly:
Ah, the heresy and apostasy of the UMC.

The Philadelphia Church of God is a non-Christian cult.

For those who doubt the full-blown apostasy of the Church of England.

Mark Driscoll — Sigh.  This narcissist really needs to leave the limelight and quit disgracing the Christian faith.

An example of all that has been wrong about Roman Catholicism — murdering people who disagree with Catholic dogma.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

The month of May was probably the busiest month I’ve had in a very, very long time.  Only a very few days were spent at home the full day.  Doctor visits, dentist appointments, vet appointment, missionary staying with us for a week, band performances, graduation parties, solo gigs, Memorial Day ceremonies, car maintenance, etc!  At least I got a chance to the mow the law, but the weeds in the gardens have taken over!

In the meantime, I try to spend SOME time catching up on the news in the world of the Church, so I’m giving you the benefit of learning from some of the stuff I’ve come across.

The Good:

I’m often told I’m divisive with my apologetics, that I’m “mean” and “unChristlike” when I expose false teachings for what they are.  Well, Christ wasn’t too kind with His words for false teachers!

A good article about proper Christian judging of sin.

Don’t let the Jehovah’s Witnesses mislead you by taking Ignatius out of context.

Fred finished part 5 of his review of Hugh Ross’ book, Navigating Genesis.

A good refutation of the teaching of “soul sleep.”

A very interesting article about why the Sabbath Day was not part of creation.  I also pointed out this fact in my article about the Sabbath.

The Bad:
Another example of the horrendously bad teaching from Seth Barnes at Adventures in Missions:  “Jesus didn’t set the example of settling down and getting a job. So, I followed Jesus’ example and left home and friends. When asked for advice, I suggest others do the same – go on a kingdom journey and dive into a world of possibilities. Become a vagabond for Christ as you practice ministry and discover your identity.”  Really — just be a bum and don’t get a job?!?!   Talk about Scripture-twisting!

The downgrade of the evangelical church.  Very sad to see where we are headed.

How deep in the “rabbit hole” will the New Apostolic Reformation go?

The Ugly:
Charisma Magazine’s Jennifer LeClaire is as whacky un-Christian as it gets.  She even “teases out” new prophecies!!  This woman is not a woman of God.

Black Hebrew Israelites — a cult about which not too many have heard.  Racist group.

More proof that Mark Driscoll has no business being a Christian teacher, let alone a pastor.

Steven Furtick — Need I say more?

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

Mark Driscoll, who is definitely disqualified from being a pastor, is holding his first service in his new church on Easter.  Driscoll claims:  “God is planting The Trinity Church and we are following his leadership.  God has a plan that has been 50 years in the making.”  Yea, right.  Now this charlatan false teacher has direct communication with God.  I don’t think so.

Concerns about AWANA.

This satire article perfectly describes the market-driven church.

The Church by the Glades has done it again — made a mockery of worship.  They just continue to feed the itching ears.

A good report on heretic Todd Bentley.  His conversion story sounds more like demons at work than the Holy Spirit, especially when you consider his history ever since!

An interesting connection between Charles Finney’s teachings and the seeker-sensitive movement.

There are not greater things than Scripture.

Why Seventh-day Adventists don’t celebrate Easter — another example of the difference between the SDA Jesus and the real Jesus of the Bible.

Another episode of Fred’s review of “Which Bible Would Jesus Use?

Perry Noble continues to prove what a wolf he is.  In fact, he daily sounds more and more liked a Word of Faith heretic.  How many times must we remind Christians that we DO NOT TITHE.  We were never commanded to do so.

The article about Perry Noble has links to another of his ilk — a new name to add to the wolf list.  His name is Tavner Smith.  Read the other articles linked to and you will see just how dangerous this man is.

Ah, the need to be “relevant”!  You know a church has gone apostate when they do this. and, yes, this is a real “church” in Tampa, FL.  They even have a staff member titled “Creative Pastor”!  If you want some real head-shaking, look at their beliefs and what they value.  And yet they claim God called them to this ministry!

A good article by Gary Gilley explaining how we need to build up the Body.

Christians should be alert to the cult of Armstrongism.  Although the Worldwide Church of God itself has changed to orthodoxy, the followers of Armstrong’s teachings are still out there propagating them.

As if Sarah Young’s “Jesus Calling” books and junk weren’t bad enough, now there is a “Jesus Calling Devotional Bible”!  Thomas Nelson Publishers will publish any heresy which enriches them.  H/T Marsha West.

That’s it for today — a lot of things to be discerning about.  Have a blessed Easter celebrating the resurrection of our Lord.
