Refer to my 9/25/18 post about the margin notes in my Bible, and why I decided to share them on this blog.
Most notes made for Matthew about parallel passages in Mark aren’t repeated. Otherwise, these are my margin notes for Mark.
3:14-15: Shows the authority of the apostles.
3:31:-31: Jesus has REAL brothers and sisters from the same mother.
4: 24: The measure of how you hear and use the Word.
4:35-41: Did they recognize this is God in Ps.107?
6:3: “son of Mary” vs son of Joseph, recognizing that Joseph wasn’t Jesus’ father. Also notes Jesus had REAL brothers and sisters from the same mother.
6:7: Again shows the authority of the apostles.
9:33: “Satan” means “adversary.” So is he calling Peter “Satan” or “adversary”?
9:29: the need to be humble before God.
9:38-39: A “dig” against the apostles because their lack of success in 9:29; be humble!
10: 7: “joined”— literally “cemented.”
10:14: Heaven is for children—they are innocent.
13:30: “This generation”: The generation who sees the signs.
14: 36: “this cup”: Cup of wrath. See Psalm 11:6; Isaiah 51:17; Jeremiah 25:15; Ezekiel 23:33-34. [note also to be added at Matt.26:39; newly added on 1/20/19]
16:18: The Greek has conditional clauses, i.e., “If they be compelled to pick up snakes…to drink poison.” Not a voluntary thing!
