We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

The Importance of Genesis Chapters 1 through 11

With so many liberal “Christians” denouncing Genesis 1-11 as essentially nothing but myth, it is important to understand that Jesus and the New Testament authors all accepted and taught these chapters as literal history.

An excellent resource examining the passages in the New Testament referring to the first eleven chapters of Genesis is a two-page photocopy I just found in my files; the trouble is that I never recorded exactly where it came from!  Looking at the type of paper and the yellowing, and how it was photocopied, I’m guessing it’s been in my files at least 25 years (prior to moving to Iowa).  It must be from a publication by the Institute for Creation Research, because this is what it says at the bottom:

“Based in part on the original work of Dr. Henry M. Morris as contained in his book The Remarkable Birth of Planet Earth.”  That book was copyrighted in 1972.

So, here we have the N.T. passage (*means Jesus said it), the topic, and the Gen. reference (71 examples):

Excellent post! Romans 5:12 is such an importance verse. Sin preceded death. Scripture truly is one continuous message, with one unified truth.
