We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

What you and your church need to know about the New Apostolic Reformation.

Part 4 of the series on the NAR’s Bible version.

Beth Moore has a new book out — horrors!  Moore’s false teaching never ceases, nor does her chumming with other heretics!

The Anglican Church of Canada has joined other fully apostate groups in approving of same-sex fake marriage.  Why such rebellion against God?!?

Up and coming false teacher Nick Hall is someone to watch out for.

A new “App” has been released just in time for the Together 2016 conference, which proves how apostate this group is — It tells you where to find “gay affirming” churches and those with yoga programs.  There is no shame with false teachers.

Together 2016 got ended five hours early due to heat.  The lineup of who’s who in false teaching probably brought the heat from hell (snark).  As to some of what happened at this gathering, see Elizabeth Prata’s post.

What happens when people make up their own hermeneutic when studying Scripture?  Just read Beth Moore’s stuff for an example.  However, this article shows how wild this ideology can get.

Frank Turek is an excellent apologist, and I can easily recommend “I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be an Atheist” and “Legislating Morality,” both co-authored by Norman Geisler.  He also has the excellent books, “Correct, Not Politically Correct” and “Stealing From God.” But he has one false teaching which seriously affects reading of Genesis — he’s one of those who claims that the days of Genesis are not literal 24-hr days.  Justin Derby does an excellent job examining Turek’s teaching. (I disagree with Justin in that Turek is NOT a heretic, because what you believe about creation is not a salvation issue.)

Apostasy in Orlando.  The stuff that went on there is outrageous and even heretical  Listen to the Justin Peters series linked at the end of the article to see just how bad this was.  Pastor David Uth is totally responsible for this.  Part two of this report is here.

Poor Bill Johnson’s feelings were hurt when he was called a false teacher.

An interesting conversation with a Freemason.

Who is the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy in John 10:10?  I’ve always understood it as the false teachers, and I guess I’ve been correct!

Someone left a comment at a Roman Catholic online video: "Why would Christians need or want an institution like the police? If they believe bad people are going to be punished by god, why would they want or need the justice system?"

What is a good response to that?

A good response is Romans 13:1-7. God established the governments for maintaining order in society. Otherwise you have anarchy and chaos.
