Today I will start with some links to information about Dallas Willard. Yesterday I was asked by a retired pastor friend to get him some information about Willard, so I copied articles from some journals in my library, and then started to copy some teaching letters from Gary Gilley when I remembered that THOSE are on line! So I went on line and printed out the articles much quicker than photocopying. These articles are not just about Willard, but are about the whole “spiritual formation” movement in which Willard is a top figure. So will see some other big names, such as Richard Foster, associated with these articles:
Solitude and Silence
Roots of the Spiritual Formation Movement
Fasting and Spiritual Direction
Discernment and Revelation
Finally, a review of Willard’s book, The Spirit of Disciplines, reviewed by Bob DeWaay.
From Lighthouse Trails Research Project we have this caution about a “”New Way’ of Doing Things.”
I was surprised to learn that a very secular source published an article by a pastor exposing the false teachings of Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer. He does a good job of explaining some of their worst errors.
Another episode of “A.D.” was reviewed. The series is definitely poison.
The “7 Unbiblical Statements Christians Believe” seem to be from Joel Osteen and his ilk.

Hi Glenn,
"Spiritual Formation" or "Spiritual Disciplines" are two terms that raise red flags to me. There's an underlying mysticism in those movements, which is of course not of the Lord. The whole contemplative/mysticism based approach seems to be pretty widespread these days. I even recently warned a friend of a popular teacher who is going down that route.
Oh, Rick Warren has a vain "imagination" doctrine? He must have based it on Romans 1:21, Jeremiah 7:24, and Jeremiah 18:12 all in KJV.
Perhaps RW ought to read Luke 1:51 and 2 Corinthians 10:5, again in KJV.
How much folly does that hireling have to spew before pastors will finally reject him?

Dear Glen, This timely article about the false teacher Dallas Willard, will be forwarded to my elder group at my conservative baptist church. (since renamed covenant community to make it more "inviting") This church has begun a full on press to become ecumenical/hypercharismatic/wordfaith/going against "strongholds", ect ect. Even recommending Dallas Willard on the churches counselor/pastrix Facebook and twitter accounts!
They now have over 50+ local churches "praying for the world"? Including a 1st Nations penecostal, Catholic, United Methodist,Charismatic/Episcopal now AGREEING? Invited into prayer hour evenings. It has driven over 1000 people to leave this 50+ year bastion of Biblical Truth to become an ecumenical error driven Mcmess. Sadly, looking for another Truth-filled Biblically based church? Has now become a year long persute. What evil times we are living in. People cannot even GOOGLE: False Teacher ________(fill in the blank). p.s the last part time "pastor" this same church asked to sub in? Had left 2 churches devasted with over 10+ affairs going on in each of the churches he had left. Meanwhile OUR CHURCH allowed this predator right up behind our pulpit (this was stopped by a couple people looking on FACT.NET and using GOOGLE to search out this Pastor's background) NOT THE LEADERSHIP OR ELDER BOARD! Just a couple curios members wondering who was teaching Sunday mornings! Whereby he was finally "excused" although remaining on our counseling pastrix "favorites" on her web pages? seeeesh! Thanks for all your efforts in keeping us all better informed and warned. Now if only a few Pastors or elders would follow your web pages...sigh ~
