We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Martha here,
I was wondering after listening to an "episode" of Brannon Howse, if it is, indeed, according to Jesus'
Scriptures, if it is a "sin" for a woman to have her own checking account and credit cards apart from her "husband?"
This individual labels women(whom are born again in Jesus Christ), as "feminists" and unworthy of authority.
Interestingly, I do have my own checking account and a trustworthy credit card. After my " husband" left me at the Janesville, Wisconsin, Mall with no ride back to his sister and now ex-husband's home ( I have a godly testimony here regarding religious self righteousness and marital abuse), I searched my purse and found no money, I had no credit card as my " fake christian husband viewed that he would take care of me, so I was left there at the mall

I was scared and afraid and ....

ABANDONED.

I was left for dead.I have my own checkbook account and credit cards.
I also carry several hundred dollars in my wallet that I have earned with my own too hands and the mind of my Savior which HE has Blessed me with, so no humanistic denominational religious system can " claim the glory for their pitiful selves."

May JESUS receive that which is due.

Praise and HONOR.

Hi Martha,

Brannon Howse has a lot of bad teachings, which is why I recommend against him. His legalistic ideas remind me a lot of Bill Gothard's nonsense.
How does he defend the wrong idea about wives having their financial accounts? My wife and I share the accounts so that if I pass the accounts are hers! They belong to the both of us. I wouldn't think it wise to have separate accounts because husband and wife should have everything in common. Believing it isn't wise has nothing to do with it being a sin and Howse making such a claim is WRONG.

Howse also doesn't seem to understand what a "feminist" is.

I also think carrying hundreds of dollars in one's wallet is unwise.

Obviously, he says a lot of things that bother you. I don't know why you would waste your time listening to him or similar people.

Jesse,
I'm assuming your comment is directed at Anonymous?

So your response is about Brannon Howse.

Many Christians listen to him until he says something weird, as Martha pointed out. Christians listen to him because he often has excellent stuff to say, not realizing that he also has bad stuff.

So people get caught with the good, no always discerning the bad.

I just checked out Brannon Howse and Jesse's correct. He is quite the nut. May I add that Howse hangs out with that one Pillow Guy? Go over to his social media platform and you'll find every wacky conspiracy theory existing under the sun! If that is your idea of "excellent stuff..."

Martha here.....the one who believes in my Lord and Savior Jesus, WHO is actually the only ONE Who literally Saves Sinners.

You men focus on Brannon Howse. Finitely interesting and testament to your character. Does the fact that my baptist church board president, abandoned me, a born again Sheep in Christ Jesus, bother or institute any kind of righteous anger within your souls?

And yes, it is not a sin to carry a couple hundred dollars in my wallet. It comes in handy when I check into a motel due to his verbal abuse. I won't even go into detail at this point when he hit and shoved me around when six months pregnant with our first child.

Oh, how church folk love their violence and self imposed "wisdom".

My Help Cometh from my LORD Jesus.

Martha,
How can we affect your personal experiences? We have no knowledge of what the situation was/is and can make no judgements, let alone approach unknown leaderships.

What has your $100 in your wallet have to do with anything regarding this post?
