Agglomeration

I haven’t had much of a chance to actually write a post; I’ve been recuperating from surgery to repair a rotator cuff injury so sitting down at the computer for more than 20 minutes at a time was too difficult. I’m on the road to recovery; although I am still limited in moving my arm, and there is still a steady ache, I am getting to do more. During the short times spent on the computer have been responding to e-mails and I have also been collecting links for this post. So, hold on to your hats because this is going to be a long one!

So I Googled her, and the most I could find was that overall her teachings were good but that she was hanging around false teachers.  Well, now I find something which shows she’s much like Beth Moore — an egalitarian who says the Bible has just been misunderstood. AVOID HER!

Midwest Christian Outreach’s e-mail for 10/24/19 has this: Currently less than 2% of Western civilization is acting as the thought police for the other 98%. Approximately 1.5-2% of the population is Gay or Gay inclined but substantially less are activists but very engaged activists in changing and enforcing the thoughts of others. A guidance booklet was recently issued to schools in the UK by Stonewall, a LGBT advocacy and rights group. To what purpose? To guide school curriculum in promoting acceptance of LGBT values and behaviors. Not just some but all. English, math, geography, even religious instruction. LGBT activists have even created a 2.5 minutes video for 5 years olds on religion titled, GOD LOVES LGBT+ (A Response to 'One Man, One Woman')

This is insidious, demonic propaganda by those who hate God.

Regular readers (and new ones) have perhaps noticed that I don’t normally address the creation/evolution debate except from a biblical point of view, using proper hermeneutical principals. I also will expose as false teachers those who espouse progressive creation, theistic evolutionism, or any other old earth creation nonsense. Once in a great while I will slip and make note of scientific fallacy, but that is rare. For those looking for good scientific arguments there is Answers In Genesis, the Institute for Creation Research, and many other ministries with solid scientists who are young earth creationists. I will also point you to a site by a fellow blogger who DOES like to spend time with examining the scientific evidence for young earth creationism and against evolutionism, and here’s an example of the latter. Jesse also has excellent articles exposing the errors of Roman Catholicism, as well as other general apologetics issues; you may enjoy visiting his blog.

I have been reading some excellent articles this past couple weeks, which I think need to be promoted; they have information which I believe is necessary for Christians to know for defending the Faith.  So, here are the links:

Good, Bad, and Ugly

The Good:

Just last week I had a discussion about this topic with Pulpit & Pen on Facebook.  I came to the very same conclusion as does Michelle!  No, a nativity scene is NOT idolatry.

A fellow blogger pointed me to this excellent resource for responding to skeptics. I skimmed a lot of areas and there are a few places where I disagree with the author (such as the Sabbath and whether it was ever for Christians), but overall I think it is beneficial.

Another excellent resource is “Answering Catholic Claims.” This blogger does excellent work exposing the false teachings of Roman Catholicism.

Alexander Hislop’s book, The Two Babylons, published in 1858, is a favorite text of KJV Onlyers and other legalists, who very often use Hislop’s material to “prove” that Easter and Christmas — and all the associated decorations, etc — are from pagan origin.  As well, the book is a rant against Roman Catholicism but misrepresents a lot about that organization.  I used to have my own copy but finally tossed it as being worthless.  A good, but short, examination of Hislop is by Ralph Woodrow.  I recommend you order his book, about which you can find information at the bottom of the page of this article.

Christmas time also brings out the myths of pagan origin from many sources.  Here’s one helpful source to counter some of the nonsensical claims.

Wayne Grudem has an excellent article about angels.  (even though, as a charismatic, he has many bad teachings)

The Bad:

James White has long been a good apologist (even if he is a 5-point Calvinist), but lately he’s been doing some weird things.  Something really surprising is his unqualified support for Michael Brown’s false teachings.

The Ugly:

Charismatic Tarot cards and “Christalignment”. This is about as occult and heretical it gets.

A “Top Twenty” list of “Christians” to follow on social media is predominantly a list of false teachers and heretics.

Bethel Redding is really a very ugly institution pretending to be a Christian assembly. And if this isn’t enough information for proof, try this one.  Then the plot thickens.  And thickens again.

The Good:

Carl Lentz has decided that those who criticize him must “know a different Jesus,” and from his teachings I’d say he is correct — those who criticize him are the ones who know the TRUE Jesus!

A book I’d say was well-worth AVOIDING.

Hank Hanegraaff has been in the apologetics news because he recently became a member of the Orthodox Church.  However, previous to that I’ve had many problems with the theology of this “Bible Answer Man,” including his soft stance on Romanism, and his abuse of Walter Martin’s ministry.  This article exposes a lot more about this man, proving he is someone we should not hold in any esteem, but rather we should avoid all his teachings.

Another example of why Matt Chandler is unqualified to be a pastor due to his lack of discernment.  And here’s a good summation of why he is so problematic.

The Ugly:

Any discerning person who knows anything about Rodney Howard-Browne would know that this sign might ward of would be killers of the body, but the teachings of Howard-Browne kill the soul.

A woman “pastor” who is really bizarre.  I don’t understand why anyone would ever listen to this sort of tripe.

More information about Bethel and Bill Johnson.  This place is really bad news.

Todd White:  While wearing a symbol of the pagan religion Rastafarianism (his dreadlocks), he spends a lot of time bragging about himself.  He is a true narcissist, preaching a false gospel.  Oh, and you’d be surprised just how much he’s been fleecing his flock for!  Todd also teaches the heresy that Jesus descended into hell and spent three days being punished there (video evidence is on the Facebook site, “Bethel Church and Christianity” where Bill Johnson also teaches that heresy.)
