We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Things To Think About

Christianity Today Astray extremely wrongly tells Christians to NOT vote while in reality promoting the anti-Christian Harris. See my previous post about the importance of the Christian vote.

Bethel, Hillsong, Elevation Worship Music—should we be using it? Absolutely not!

The Disturbing Trend of Continuationism Embraced by the Modern Church

Russell Moore swings farther and farther away from true Christianity.

How about examining something in popular culture: Stevie Nicks & Taylor Swift Witchcraft Influencers

Aimee Byrd goes further astray with apostasy. Further information.

Jonathan Cahn is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Why is the book of Enoch not accepted in the Christian (or Jewish) canon?

Todd White is a lying false teacher/false believer. Michael Brown and Sid Roth are also a false teachers who support White!

With all the false teaching of Andy Stanley, I’m wondering if he is a true believer.

False teacher Jenny Weaver tells people to order everything to resist the hurricane in the name of Jesus! And a whole lot of other lies about your power to protect yourself from the hurricanes, binding demons, etc  This sort of nonsense is dangerous to people who follow her and her ilk who claim “apostolic authority.” No, she isn’t getting any word from God nor is she speaking in tongues

A dangerous new cult is called Shincheonji Church of Jesus, founded in 1984 by Lee Man-hee.

Take these things to heart and spread the word to save people from false teachers/teachings.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

It’s a good thing I am retired; otherwise I don’t know when I’d find time to go to work!  I think we spend more time away from home than we actually spend at home — except for perhaps sleeping!  And when I am home, the yard work is keeping me really busy.

I decided that I have too many links to articles to sit on any longer, especially since in my reading file I have a couple dozen more to look at!  As usual, let’s start with some good articles giving information, education, or edification, or all three!

The Good:
A very interesting commentary about eternal security and Saul.

A very interesting article about Seventh-day Adventism, demonstrating the cultic nature of that belief system, and how “progressives” wrangle with it.

What did Jesus mean when he said those who believe in him would do greater works?

One of the many problems of the theology of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Now for the Bad and/or Ugly: Fasten your seat-belts!

I wasn’t going to bring up the Willow Creek imbroglio again (I noted it in May), but I again want to point out how horrid things have gotten there; the ROOT to it all is the philosophy which was the foundation of Bill Hybels’ theology, a liberal feel-good theology which always leads to the destruction of affected assemblies.

Louie Giglio is a WOLF.  Warn people away from him.

Proof that Bill Johnson, of Beth Redding, is NOT a Christian and his “ministry” is not of Christ. This is demonic.

More on the “Revoice” conference.  Albert Mohler also chimes in with his observations.

Dennis Prager exposes the ideology behind the Pope’s recent denial of God’s law in regards to capital punishment: it isn’t Catholic or Christian.

Bible Study Fellowship is going downhill.  Use discernment!

If this is what a “church” has to do to get people to attend and take part in the assembly, then they are NOT “healthy spiritually” to begin with. Just remember that what you win them with is what you win them too.

What more evidence do you need to know Rick Warren is a false teacher who has demonstrated his need to be popular.  Saddleback, being a water-down feel-good church is baptizing how many false believers who really have no clue about their faith? (I also wonder why they keep track of how many baptisms; are they looking to be praised?)ne/

Andy Stanley’s teachings keep going from bad to worse.  MARK AND AVOID HIM!

More information on the Pennsylvania pedophile priests.

More proof that Jen Hatmaker is NOT a Christian: mark and avoid her!

Jonathan Cahn and Michael Brown — two false teachers in a pod.  Cahn really, really demonstrates what a false prophet he is, and how nutty he can really get: he finds the Bible prophecies Donald Trump as President!  And Brown accepts all his false teaching and promotes it. Where is the discernment in the people who listen to this nonsense?!?!?

The humorous
Church’s statement of faith comprised entirely of U2 lyrics.  Sounds like a church I visited once.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

The Good:

What was the shape of Jesus’ cross?  No, it wasn’t a “stake” as the Jehovah’s Witnesses claim.

Why Quaker beliefs are problematic.

The Bad:
The cultic nature of the New Apostolic Reformation.

Moody Bible Institute has had some discernment issues for quite a while, but I didn’t know just to what extent this was until I read this article.  Now things have been coming out which have led to resignations among the leadership.

Jonathan Cahn’s new book, “The Paradigm” has led to me being contacted about a review of this book which could show how horrid Cahn’s teachings are.  While looking for information, I came across this link to discussions about all sorts of issues regarding Cahn.  This is a site I started following last year—and can highly recommend—but I missed these!  Well, if that isn’t enough for you, here is another collection of links exposing Cahn’s nonsense; good resource if needed.

Why is it that Catholic universities never seem to follow Catholic doctrines?

The Ugly:
Michael Brown is participating in a conference headlining a bunch of hardcore heretics.  Don’t EVEN try to defend him — he continues to prove he is a blatant false teacher.  This is the NAR at its finest!  Phil Johnson has written an interesting article about Brown’s continued support for false teachers.

The NAR and Bethel just get more and more bizarre.

More on Christalignment.  Kris Vallotton of Bethel Redding has approved of this group.  There is nothing Christian about this.  This article, and the video report, give excellent reporting on the “tarot cards” used by Christalignment, as well exposing Michael Brown’s defense of it!!!

Proof positive that Bethel’s Kris Vallotton preaches a gospel of wealth.

If you didn’t think the PCUSA was full-blown apostate before, try explaining this away.

An example of how false teacher Paula White abuses Scripture to suck money from her gullible followers

KJV-Only Pastor Tests Positive for NIV.  It must be true because I saw it on the Internet.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

Another big collection today!

The Good:

How ‘LBGT-Affirming’ Is Like KJV-Onlyism.  Really good comparison.  The only problem I found is some things labeled as KJVO church behaviors SHOULD BE the same in ALL churches (e.g. church discipline for fornication and fostering young earth creationism).

Jesus and the Law of Moses: the Woman Caught in Adultery.  One item addressed here is a question I’ve always asked about those charging the woman — if she was caught in the act, where is the guilty man?

Is Jesus the Archangel Michael?  A great way to deal with Jehovah’s Witnesses’ false teaching about Jesus.

The Bad:
Lou Engle’s love affair with Rome.

Shame on Michael Brown for promoting false prophet Jonathan Cahn.

Avoid any teaching by Lisa TerKeurst—she’s a false teacher!l

The Ugly:
Shawn Bolz practices that which is forbidden by God, and is of the occult.  However, he is really just pretending — LYING.  The man cannot be a real believer, let alone a pastor.

What Seventh-day Adventism hides from outsiders.

Rome is again offering a plenary indulgence for getting out of purgatory — a non-existent place—for idolatry.  This is a horrid sham which proves again that Roman Catholicism is an unbiblical, man-made organization which blasphemes God on a daily basis.

Steven Furtick.  This is what the modern worldly Church has devolved into.  The people following Goatherd Furtick are definitely not sheep.

The Church by the Glades is NOT a Christian assembly.

The humorous
— although there is a whole lot of truth here!  A fellow believer said he doesn’t think this is honoring God, but I think that any time we expose false teaching it honors God, and if the satire/sarcasm bothers you, think about how Elijah poked fun at the Baal worshipers!

I wouldn’t be surprised if THIS is true!

Joel Osteen’s tortured Bible verses.

Random Things Needing Discernment

Who are “the least of these”?  Not who the “social justice warriors” claim they are.

Just when you thought Steven Furtick couldn’t get more aberrant, he’s now joining up with the New Apostolic Reformation.

Is Freemasonry compatible with Christianity?  Well, I’ve recently posted two articles which prove it isn’t, but this is some more good information.   This is followed up by a personal testimony about Freemasonry from a pastor, and another from a former Mason.

Beware of Aglow International — they are part of the NAR false teaching cult.

Beware of Jonathan Cahn — he’s at it again.

The Benedict Option — I keep reading about this book and it sounds much like another mine in the minefield of Christian books.

Seventh-day Adventists have a weak God.

Does God believe in you? Um, No.

Have you read the book, “Seeking Allah — Finding Jesus,”by Nabeel Qureshi?  I have, and thought it was squirrelly.  So do theses reviewers.

Another false teacher I’ve not previously heard of — Tamara Lowe.  She’s a member of the Word of Faith cult.  Then there is this one, also new to me — Poncho Lowder.

Examples of John Hagee’s heresy, which condemns Jews to eternity in hell, are found in this excellent article.

Some more good exposure of all that is wrong with Andy Stanley.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

Well, I’m way behind on so many things around the house, not to mention my blog and other apologetics ministry duties.  I had the audacity to spend much of Thursday with doctors and tests.  Then we left home at “zero dark thirty” Friday morning to drive 70 miles to a 1-room school conference, which lasted all the way to 9PM.  From there we drove anther 25 minutes to the motel where conference attendees stayed because Saturday morning we boarded a school bus about 1.5 miles away to spend the morning touring a couple restored schools and some other historic sites before heading to a restaurant for a late lunch.  Finally arrived home about 1530 yesterday afternoon and spent the afternoon/evening unpacking, collecting notes and handouts in one place for addressing later and then just sitting down and relaxing.

Why a 1-room school conference?  Because we have a hobby photographing them, and six years ago started a blog to post our photos (later split to two for separating Iowa from other states).  The blog led to the hobby taking on a life of its own, with a lot of people contacting us with information about the schools, newspaper interview, requests for presentations at various venues, and invitations to the annual convention in Iowa, during the last two of which I was requested to speak about out school house blog!

So this afternoon I’m going to be trying to catch up on all my emails (culling what can be quickly dispensed with and leaving important stuff until tomorrow) and reviewing all my news sites for important updates and information; the latter of which includes apologetics issues — and this post includes all I’ve collected this week and this afternoon.  And then I hope to download my camera!

So with that introduction to what’s been happening in my life, it’s time to be alerted to some more false teachings and more false teachers.

This is very unsettling — Seth Barnes of Adventures in Missions is being called “daddy” and he denigrates real fathers.  This is indeed cultic!  Then there’s AIM’s Project Searchlight, which indoctrinates its attenders with all sorts of false charismania teachings.

Contrary to Andy Stanley’s ideology, there are very, very good reasons to preach from the Bible.

Jonathan Cahn is just a false teacher, he is also a false prophet.

Muslim dreams and visions.  Discernment is certainly needed.

The Church continues battle apostasy as more and more teachings invade assemblies where the shepherds are not doing their job protecting their flocks.  I have reported various false teachings weekly, but one can never keep up with the way false teachings multiply.  Here is an interesting term for what is happening with more and more Christian leaders: Cathangelicalism.

My July 6th edition of “RAAH” had a link to Apologia Church, which is a very “seeker-sensitive” group; now we have another report which shows problems with this sort of “church.”

Seems like the devil gets false teachers all sorts of ways to spread their garbage; Sid Roth has a new television network in the Middle East.

Don’t let liberal Christians tell you that capital punishment is not Christ-like.

Shawn Bolz continues to prove he is a false prophet.

An assembly of the apostate Episcopal Church denomination has a a crucified Christ as a woman.   Blasphemy!

A problem with the evangelical darling, Kirk Cameron — a total lack of discernment.

Beth Moore doesn’t like to be criticized.  Perhaps if she would quit teaching falsely, she wouldn’t be criticized!

Sad, sad is the list of high-profile “Christians” who endorse all the “Jesus Calling” nonsense.  They prove they cannot be trusted with the Word of God.

A “Holy Ghost Wiener Roast”!?!  Will market-driven ideology ever take a break?
