We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Ends and ODDS!

Let’s start this post with an article from Answers In Genesis.  A Cultural and Spiritual Crisis Based on Fake Science!

The Roman Catholic Church is really showing its true colors lately.  First, we have the Pope promoting legalized same-sex unions, i.e. “marriage.” Then he goes and appoints pro-LGBT men to the College of Cardinals. The Cripplegate says we shouldn’t be surprised.

With the current culture and election fever we need to understand “Dogma Fights.”

Of course sometimes “dogma fights” lead to changing God’s Word to suit personal ideologies. And other times they lead to really silly arguments.

Now I need to alert you to what’s going on with some false teachers:

Todd Smith. I never heard of this guy before, but he is sly but dangerous.

Another I’ve not heard of is Sean Feucht. He’s connected with the blasphemous and apostate Bethel Redding goat-pen.

Greg Laurie likes the endorsement of false teachers.

John Piper continues his descent into support of the LEFT. Gary DeMar has a rebuttal for Piper.

Beth Moore.  This lady just keeps getting worse. Elizabeth Prata believes Beth is demon-possessed. I’m not sure I can go that far, but Moore is certainly demonically influenced.

Be DISCERNING, people!

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

It's that time again, but you may ask why we apologists report about the false teaching and false teachers -- TO EXPOSE THE WOLVES!

The Polemics Report has coined some terms to describe new heresies.  Some are just new “technical” words for well-know heresies (such as Word of Faith), but I found these to be worthwhile:
Theoerosism — “erotic love for God.”
Vinism — Gay theology

The “Code” used by Steven Furtick and his goat-pen, Elevation Church.  I wonder if they even know what the Bible is?  H/T to one of my readers for pointing me to this article.

You can’t make this stuff up.  Be sure to read all the way through to see even the stuff about Lisa Bevere.

The Pope continually proves he has no clue about the Christian faith or the things of God, as he kowtows to all the LEFTIST ideology.  There is no evidence than man can do anything to change our climate, yet he has bought into all the leftist talking points and has declared it a sin against God.  If you aren’t an environmentalist, you are sinning according to him.  The Pope teaches the social gospel on top of the heretical Catholic doctrines.  Of course promoting all the LEFTIST ideologies just helps promote the one-world religion.

Mother Teresa is now a Catholic saint — but was she a saved Christian?  Sadly, the answer has to be, “no.”

Listen to false teacher Ed Young talk about how you need to tithe.  I’m still trying to find where he gets his support without twisting Scripture.

Andy Stanley — Again.  He really needs to get another job.  Here is another excellent review of this sermon.

A troubling situation developing with the joining of two cultic groups.

I’ve previously addressed the fact that Jeremiah 29:11 does not apply to the Christian, rather it was about Israel and only Israel.  Many people have discounted my article because I’m not a lettered theologian.  Okay, so let’s hear Gregory Kouki say pretty much the same thing I’ve said and perhaps people will finally accept the truth.

More proof that the “Church by the Glades” is nothing more than a goat-pen full of self-worshipping goats.

More proof that the ELCA denomination is totally apostate.

Just a reminder that there is a good site exposing the dangerous false teachings of “Adventures in Missions” and “The World Race,” as well as the leader Seth Barnes.  If you’re like me and never heard of this stuff before, get the word out to those who need to know.

The Seventh-day Adventists don’t like the idea of hell, so they’ve erased it from their “Bible.

Skip Moen, one of the movers and shakers of the Hebrews Roots Movement, denies the Trinity.

A good article about what has happened to the Church since the “emergent” movement began, which just added to the already corrupt social gospel.  He even names some of the vicious wolves.

It’s a nightmare — Perry Noble says he’s coming back to being a vicious wolf!  (I disagree that he is an “alcoholic” or suffers from “alcoholism” — this malady was invented to take responsibility away from the individual by calling it an illness.  The Bible calls it drunkenness.)

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

WOW! — the time has sneaked up on me and I’ve gathered way too many items to report on.  So buckle up, you’re in for another nightmare ride through things you need to be alerted about avoiding!

I agree — “worship” leaders need to quit saying these juvenile phrases.

What is the Church coming to when they use the teachings of a media celebrity over the teachings of the Bible in their sermons?!?  I’d say The Gathering isn’t a Christian sheep-fold but a non-Christian goat-pen.

Here’s some shocking things from the SBC conference, but not-so-shocking from Andy Stanley.

Oh, Andy Stanley, you really need to give up your job and quit leading people astray with your lies!

This is normal for ELCA liberal Lutheranism — denying the facts of the Bible is how they have totally apostatized.

When you hear from “God,” be sure to check with Scripture.  This article shows the horrors of false NAR claims — a “god” of their own making.

Some revealing information about the “Passion Translation” of the Bible, the one promoted by the NAR.  The translator got direct revelation from God!

What has this to got to do with the REAL Church of Christ? False teachers and an event that looks exactly like a secular rock concert.

Here’s an interesting site which examines things even I’ve never heard about. There sure are a lot of false teachings out there!!!!

What about those who claim to have seen God?  Of course they are liars.

Liberal churches promoting “social justice” and “multiculturalism” are NOT preaching Christ.

Gary Gilley has a good 2-part teaching of “The Social Gospel, Yesterday and Today.”  See part 1 here and part 2 here.

The world of false prophets never ends.  Every one of them claims to have a word from God.

Texas Christian University has proven they are apostate by assisting abortionists.  Of course when you are associated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) you can pretty much expect this sort of thing (see previous reports about DoC in my “RAAH” posts).

Why in the world would Greg Laurie be promoting false believer and defender of Roman Catholicism Mel Gibson at a “crusade”?!?!?  Gibson has done nothing for the Christian faith, so why make him the “star of the show”?

Roman Catholics continue in their apostasy — now they’ve hired a Hindu priest for a college chaplain!!!

Now we can look forward to another “heresy parade” at Steven Furtick’s goat-pen!

Speaking of Furtick’s goat-pen:  I reported in an “RAAH” post a year ago about a woman false teacher with his ministry, Lysa TerKeurst.  Well, now here’s some more information about her and why she and her teachings are to be avoided.

Unfasten your belt now and stagger back to earth in your shock and dismay.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

It really takes a lot of work to keep up with this stuff so as to warn my readers about what is happening!

Excellent article suggesting we should have “stranger danger” teaching in the Church!

Prophet Passion Java, “Bishop” Noel Jones — another false teacher/prophet I’ve not heard of before.  I just don’t get it — why do people believe this trash!?!?!

Similarly, another false prophet gaining an audience is “Prophet Nicholas,” who “launches Holy Ghost Missiles Against Singleness.”  Satan is having a field day!

Gary Gilley had an excellent series on the “Ancient-Future Faith” movement.  Part 1 is “Ancient-Future Faith Or Do All Roads Lead to Rome?”; part 2 is “Ancient-Future Faith: Its Practices”; and part 3 is “Ancient-Future Faith: Its Beliefs.”

It may be satire, but it is right on the money.

It’s pretty sad when people like Greg Laurie help promote the false teachings of Roman Catholicism.

Christians need to quit being cowards.

Priscilla Shirer is really using her popularity to get more and more bizarre with her false teachings.

Seems to me that Thabiti Anyabwile is nothing less than a full-blown racist.  And yet he is cited by so many as a wonderful evangelical teacher.

Seeker-sensitive tithe mongering.  For the members of this congregation: Four minutes of your life wasted, should be leaving you questioning why you went to this church!

Speaking of tithes, it is becoming common for churches to play the secular game of collecting offerings on-line, supposedly for more convenience. First problem is the name of this group, which reinforces the lie that Christians are to tithe.  Another problem with this is that these groups charge a percentage of the take for their own income, so not all money donated goes to the church.  They claim that stats say giving increases when people can do so on-line.  Oh, and I’ve heard it said that it also makes giving convenient when traveling.  But why can’t the travelers just give on their return?  Why do people think they have to give every week? (I get paid once a month and give once a month!)  And, really, why would people increase giving just because they have on-line access?  To lessen their guilt about not attending Church?  Does the possibility of receiving more money really justify the pragmatism of playing the secular world’s game?  Is money really that important to the Church that they will use anything that “works” to get more of it?  I certainly wouldn't want a percentage of my offering going to pay a firm to handle the money -- I want ALL of my offering to go to the Church.  This is just a way to make money off of the church, plain and simple, and the churches go along with it and praise it.

I’ve discovered another female false prophet in a 2-year old video — Stacey Campbell.  Looks to me like she’s demon-possessed.

The United Reformed Church in the United Kingdom is now approving and performing same-sex fake marriages.  This denomination no longer pretends to obey God.

It’s ironic when a church fires a false teacher, not for false teachings, but for his sins.  I think his self-image from his popularity probably had something to do with his actions.  Here’s another short report on Perry Noble’s firing.

The ultimate in pastor worship.  How about returning to worshiping God?

Russell Moore again promoting paganism.  Can you just see Paul asking all the pagans to pray together with him for peace in the Roman Empire?  Neither can I.

Part 3 of the series on the NAR’s “Passion Translation” of the Bible.

Rodney Howard Browne’s church had a 12-year-old girl blaspheming God!

Closing with this.  All I can say is, WOW!  How far down away from the Lord can CCM get?!?

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

Excellent review of “Young Messiah” which demonstrates why no Christian should waste money on it.  (Note that Focus on the Family has endorsed this blasphemy!)

The junk coming to “Christian” stores will now include all the marketing of, “Young Messiah.”   It is really, really sickening.

A book which came out a decade ago, but which is still being promoted a lot, is John Eldredge’s “Wild At Heart.”  One apologist I know called it “Wildly Unbiblical.”  You might find Gilley’s review of this book to be also worthwhile.  Part 1 here, part 2 here.

Rick Joyner’s teachings are just foolishness contrived to suit his agenda.

Mary Dalke had a very good article exposing false teacher John Hagee.  (I forgot to note this article previously.)

George Otis and the NAR’s “Spiritual Mapping”  — all part of the aberrant “Strategic Level Spiritual Warfare” movement.  FALSE spiritual warfare, by the way.  (I have a half-dozen books in my library on this topic!)

Catholic HERESY!!!!

Roman Catholicism has long taught their people to be anti-Jew.  Oh, it has supposedly been pretty much corrected over the past 50 years or so, but you can’t erase a lengthy history that quickly.  The problem began when Rome decided that the Christian Church replaced Israel, and that Jews were “Christ-killers.”  Of course the whole idea of Jews were to blame for the death of Jesus is absurd, since Jesus gave his own life to pay for sin and the actually execution was by Roman soldiers.  I’ve always thought it odd that so many “Christians” throughout history have railed at Jews for “murdering” Jesus, when if they stopped to think what would be their position if Jesus was not hung on the cross — where would their salvation be?  Yet here we have Catholic high schoolers raising the old “You Killed Jesus!” claim against Jews.  Where did they even get the idea if they haven’t heard it from their teachers?  IF Jews were responsible for the actual crucifixion, why rail at them when it was the cause of their salvation?  They should be thankful that God used man to provide the method of death for Jesus’ offering for our salvation.

On my March 3rd “Random….” post I had a note about Greg Laurie now having a show on the TBN heretic TV station, and one of those commenting on that post gave information about where Greg Laurie is headed with his beliefs.  Well, now “Berean Research” has an article demonstrating that Laurie is diving into the charismanic swimming pool.  I guess he has really become a teacher to avoid.

A short commentary by Marsh West as she directs her readers to an article at Pulpit & Pen in regards to another event where teachers who should know better are joining with false teachers.  Take a look at the names!

A problem with mega-churches.  To lighten up, though, here is some satire about Andy Stanley and his mega-church!

An old article on the Ezzo cult, but well worth it if you never heard of them.  Their books and followers are still out there.

Non-Catholics should NOT celebrate Ash Wednesday or Lent.  They are unbiblical practices.

Fred has posted part 8 of his review of Which Bible Would Jesus Use?

Mary Dalke has a collection of short videos demonstrating some heretical teachings of the Pope.

One of the worst cults ever, for those who haven’t been around long enough to know about them — the Children of God.  Sex and cults, cults and sex.  It is an inevitable mixture.  They are still around, by the way, and known as “The Family International.”

Time for some humor to end with.  A SWAT team raids a church after learning about many people being slain.  The Salvation Army and landfills are refusing "rapture" books.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

Where did this nonsense about “Love Offerings” come from?!?!  I’m really tired of this phrase, and while looking for some reason behind it, I came across this article by another person tired of this phrase.  (Some really judgmental comments on this post surprised me.

Biologos is now promoting not only evolution, but also outright heresy.

Testing your charismatic experience against the Word of God.

Christianity Today Astray has crossed the lines of decency.   They long ago crossed the line into paganism and false teachings, but they aren’t even decent about it any more.

More Patricia King lying nonsense.  Why oh why does anyone listen to here?!??!

Just as bad is Heidi Baker - again.  How in the world do these people get where they are?!?!  (I’m still trying to figure out just what an “oily life” is - what the heck does it mean?!?!)

Spiritual Gift tests are bogus.  They are nothing more than copying the idea of

Beth Moore—high school girl.

Via Doug Evans I learned this week that Greg Laurie is now on the heretic TV station TBN.  As I said last time, he is sliding into apostasy for popularity.  Read Doug’s article for more information about Greg.

Another horrid “Christian” movie coming soon will be sure to sell out many theaters, and the associated marketing of books, journals, study guides, etc, will overtake the “Christian” book stores minefields.  “The Young Messiah” claims to be biblical, but since we know virtually nothing biblically about that period of Jesus’ life it has to be all made up out of peoples’ apostate minds.  Of course it is IMMEDIATELY unbiblical by making Jesus’ brothers and sisters to be his cousins, because that is the Romanist teaching in order to keep Mary a perpetual virgin — a totally unbiblical concept.  The actor portraying “Jesus” looks very girly - about as feminine as it gets. The list of apostates and heretics promoting it doesn’t surprise me.   Save your money.  (Here’s another good review.)

The “apocalypse” examined by a host of false prophets just demonstrates the mess that can happen when one leaves Scripture behind.
Speaking of false prophets, Doug Evans has an excellent article starting off a series on the New Apostolic Reformation.  These guys are dangerous.

The Mark Driscoll plot thickens.

More deceit in the Mormon church - fake reviews of the Book of Mormon.

Some good information via video on another cult, the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The Cripplegate is analyzing Rick Warren’s Celebrate Recovery program.  You can pretty much assume that, coming from Warren & Co., it will be unbiblical psychobabble.  Part 1 is here, part 2 is here. (Just be careful of the TULIPs in this review.)

Mary Dalke has a very thorough post examining Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling book, with good warnings against it.  The post also addresses ecumenicism.

To end with some humor, there’s a new Christian satire site, The Babylon Bee. I was especially amused with this article, while this one really pointed to the modern idea of teaching from movies — no matter how horrid they may be!
