We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

More Wolves and False Teachings

Timothy and Kathy Keller — ruining the church.

More about Francis Chan, and this ISN’T satire! Chan gets worse and worse.Take the time for a more in-depth look at the situation here. If that one doesn’t make you totally avoid Chan at any cost, then you aren’t paying attention.

When socialist, leftist “Christians” abuse Scripture for their agendas. Since no one living now was enslaved, nor were anyone living now enslavers, how do we determine who pays reparations and to whom do they pay? Actually, shouldn’t the Africans who sold the slaves be the primary ones responsible?

It’s getting worse than Sodom and Gomorrah out there.

Sozo is dangerous and totally unbiblical, and was developed by false teachers.

Just because it claims to be a Christian institution, that doesn’t mean it really is.

Bill Johnson and Bethel Church continue to prove they are a cult of unbelievers.

Homosexualists are invading the church, and are being given platforms for discussing family issues!

Why do so many worship leaders look so gay?  Because they are wolves.

In my opinion, only wolves would use a bar for “church.”

These students are apparently NOT real Christians.

Brian Houston continues to PROVE why he is a dangerous wolf, and that Hillsong is nothing more than a cultish goat-pen.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

The Good:
A very interesting discussion with a Roman Catholic. The author knocks it out of the park against the Papists.

Interesting article about the arrangement and history of the books of the Bible.

Should Christians observe the Torah? Absolutely not, and I’ve previously warned about the false teachings of the Hebrew Roots Movement.

A Parent’s guide to the 5 skeptics who want to shame your kids for being Christian.

Jesus is NOT a Democrat. I’ve been saying for years that Jesus would never be a liberal, because liberal ideology is in direct opposition to everything the Bible teaches.

9 Bible verses which teach that sex before marriage is sin — contrary to what modern culture says.

The historic St. Patrick. I’ve previously linked to articles which demonstrate that the Irish Catholics totally misrepresent Patrick’s teachings (here and here).

The Bad and/or Ugly
This is what happens when wolves forget that God calls us to obey the laws of the land that don’t conflict with God’s laws.  If your “pastor” teaches this, run from that church.

Ask Google, “Is Beth Moore a false teacher?”

With cults, always make sure you define your terms.  A perfect example is the Mormon teaching about Adam and Eve, who certainly aren’t the Adam and Eve of the bible.

I saw a video this past week (to which I can’t link - it was posted on Facebook) with Billy Graham saying he believes in abortion for those who have been raped or if there are diseases that might affect the unborn child.  How sad for a man with such a following to be teaching it is good to murder the unborn!

Sweeping the devil out of the church — more charismatic foolishness.

If this is the type of VBS at your church, you really need to find another church.

Don’t be a “woke” Christian — the ideology is apostate.

Really “ugly” is Hillsong and Christine Caine, as exposed by Pulpit & Pen.

Another excellent examination of false teacher Christine Caine.  Avoid her like the plague. As the author of the article says at his conclusion:
While Christine Caine’s A21 Campaign is most definitely a good work, it cannot be overstated how important it is for fellow believers to mark and avoid her (Romans 16:17). She is a false teacher and heretic who preaches herself, twists Scripture, unashamedly engages in unbiblical practices and flagrantly disobeys God’s Word with her teaching of men. May she repent of her wickedness before it is too late.

The historic St. Patrick.  I’ve previously linked to articles which demonstrate that the Irish Catholics totally misrepresent Patrick’s teachings (here and here).

Meanwhile the United Methodist Church continues its spiral to totally apostate oblivion.

The humorous
I don’t think this will every happen.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

Lots of stuff today, for another rocky ride; hold on to your hats!

First up, Is the Bible Full of Contradictions?  It’s a 53 minute video.

Gary E. Gilley did a three-part examination of the emerging church back in 2006.  You can read this series here, here, and here.

Discernment diagnostics — some good tests!

Anna McCarthy — another blogger pretending to be a Christian with good advice.  She’s certainly one to avoid!

I can certainly empathize!

More proof that the Pope is a false teacher and a disgrace to the Christian faith.

Thousands of conversions”?!?!  Conversions to what? These charismaniacs keep regurgitating the same false revivals with the same false “signs and wonders.”  People are so gullible — which is very sad.

This should be a no-brainer.  A pastor who commits adultery should never be in the pulpit — or any leadership position — again.

So why does Tim Keller allow this man to remain on staff?

The false apostles of the NAR — another good episode from Doug Evans

The greed of the top false prophet of the NAR is putrid.

I never cared for Oswald Chambers’ devotionals/teachings because I found them to be mostly fluff.  Yes, he had some good worldview things to say, and I would have no problem sharing some citations from him, but I could never recommend him as a teacher.  Now I can explain why.  (Steve Bricker also has an example of problems with Chambers.)

Are you guilty of “confirmation bias”?

SBC president Ronnie Floyd is at it again.  Why does the SBC not throw him out?

The Proclamation Magazine now has an on-line pdf version (for those unaware, this magazine is by ex-SDA members and has some really good articles about the SDA, as well as some articles of general interest for Christians).  Some good information about Ellen White and changes the Seventh-day Adventists are making to more-or-less hide how they see her teachings and “prophecies,” as well as an examination of the Hebrew Roots Movement’s cultic false teachings. (SDA members literally HATE this magazine and viciously attack it — they hate the truth.)

I don’t think I’ve posted this before, but it is a perfect example of the false teachings of Beth Moore.  And now she’s promoting “binding prayers”!

More apostasy from the Church by the Glades.

Finally
If the leadership of the United Methodist Church had done their jobs, and if they WOULD do their jobs, the invasion of that denomination by sexual perverts would never have taken place.  But the UMC has chosen the way of the social gospel and has even put women in the pulpits, both in violation of Scripture.  They deserve what they get for their apostasy.

Steve Chalke long ago was swayed to the “dark side,” and will now perform same-sex fake marriages.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

They are nice while they send you to hell.

Mysticism is spreading like wild fire in the Church, promising “close encounters” with God.  However, such mysticism is nothing less than regurgitated practices from pagan Eastern religions and have nothing to do with the Christian faith, let alone communicating with God.  Beware.

Another glaring example of the apostate condition of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Popular false teachers who are women.

Willow Creek is getting more and more apostate.

Part two review of Beth Moore’s Simulcast.

The teachings of Paul (David) Yonggi Cho are aberrant and sometimes dangerous.

Yes, Seventh-day Adventism is still a cult.

Another Roman Catholic honcho who should be excommunicated due to his promotion of homosexuality.  Yet Rome continues to ignore this type of apostasy.

Albert Mohler has a good commentary as to why we real Christians can’t accept the world’s modern view of human sexuality.

Gothard’s ATI education is twisted Scripture and legalistic nonsense.  Recovering grace has a series exposing ATI:  Introduction, chapter 1, chapter 2.  Looking for more in the future.

Another new heretical Bible, this time endorsed by the Hebrew Roots Movement.  SIGH!  (To read more about Hebrew Root, Marsha gives some good links at the bottom of the article.)

Finally, Joyce Meyer reads too much Joel Osteen.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies.

Some big news over the past week or so has been about Rick Warren’s capitulation to Rome.  A YouTube video has been posted, showing Warren’s discussion.  It takes 41 minutes, but is enlightening.  Aside from him calling the Pope, “Holy Father,” quoting the horrid “The Message,” and his much bragging about Saddleback, his books, courses, etc, he has some good things to say about marriage.  If only he had stuck to the subject of marriage and self!

Elizabeth Prata posted a couple 15-minute videos of James White examining Warren’s capitulation to Rome.  Find them here and here.

Oh, and since I mentioned Warren’s use of “The Message,” you might want to look at the new tract booklet about this corruption of the Bible at Lighthouse Trails Research Ministry.  It should be enough to prove how corrupt The Message is.

Erin Benziger has some more comments about Ann Voskamp’s book, “One Thousand Gifts.”  The book is rife with false teachings.

Christine Pack over at Sola Sisters posted an article about the Hebrew Roots Movement and Christmas.

But, “Is Christmas Day Rooted in Paganism?  Nope.  However, another humorous view of the same question might just give you a chuckle.

Answers In Genesis has many times posted articles about the dangerous and compromising teachings coming from the BioLogos organization.  This week I found another site examining why BioLogos is dangerous to Christian education.

Don’t let anyone tell you that “Allah” is an acceptable name for the God of the Bible.

I have previously posted information about the apostasy of the Disciples of Christ denomination, but Neil has added another log onto that fire.

Just when you think that the seeker-sensitive and market-driven church mentality has reached its limit for worldliness, you come across an article like this — which add more fuel to the fire of the apostasy at the Disciples of Christ!

A hat tip now to Erin for pointing us to this video, “Christian Girl Instagram.”  Good humor to end this post with!

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

We took a week vacation and I really got behind on reading all the news!  So I’ve gleaned what I consider the most important stuff to alert my readers to.

Let’s start with asking how a Catholic Cardinal can welcome gay activist participation in a predominantly Catholic St. Patrick’s Day parade?!?  Is he perhaps “gay” himself?  Has the RCC disciplined this man?

Jimmy Carter, one time worst president of the United States, has often been in the news as an example of a good Christian.  After all, he’s taught Sunday School for adults at his church, and since he used to be President that makes him an authority on the Bible.  I’ve previously reported on his false belief system, especially in regards to interviews about the “study Bible” in which he authored the commentaries.  Carter has also in the past said that Mormons are Christians.  In one of my “Random…” posts I noted how Carter twisted Galatians 3:28 to “prove” to the Catholics that they should allow women priests.  In another “Random…” post I noted that Carter claimed that wife-beating and other anti-woman behavior is due to such things and Rome not allowing women to be priests.  NOW Carter wants us to follow the teachings of Allah!  This man is what we call a CINO - Christian In Name Only.

Did you know that “confronting climate change” is a responsibility that the Bible teaches?  Well, Secretary of State John Kerry says so, and we know if he said it, it must be true!  Rather than checking with real Christians and real theologians, the media loves to get their Bible teaching from politicians who abuse Scripture as bad as do cults.  By the way, Mr. Kerry, man can’t do anything about the changing climate.

I’ve previously addressed problems with the Hebrew Roots Movement.  I came across this excellent article from the trenches — a woman whose husband got wrapped up in the movement.

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Davenport, IA, has a woman “reverend” who “married” two lesbians.  Apparently the Disciples of Christ denomination is getting more and more liberal while walking away from the truth of Scripture

Humor for today, look what happens when martyrs read Joel Osteen tweets!

If you are not familiar with the original “9/11” massacre in 1857 when Mormons wiped out a wagon train which “violated” their territory, take a look at this Mormon Coffee article about a ballad which was written about it.  Mormons continue to claim that it was rogue members with no authorization from LDS leaders, but the evidence is pretty conclusive that Brigham Young was responsible; John D. Lee (leader of the attack) states as much in his book, “Mormonism Unveiled”.  For those of my readers who have an interest, I can suggest the following titles:
American Massacre, by Sally Denton
The Mountain Meadows Massacre, by Juanita Brooks
White Flag: America’s First 9/11, by Wayne Atilio Capurro
Blood of the Prophets: Brigham Young and the Massacre at Mountain Meadows, by Will Bagley

For any Mormon readers, I would like to challenge you to listen to my pastor’s sermon from this past Sunday, as he discusses “The Spirituality of God.”  God is not, and never was a man.  He has always been spirit.

Oh boy, oh joy!  Another visit to heaven, this time by false teacher Rick Joyner.

Elizabeth Prata has some interesting information about Coptic Christians — and about Eastern Orthodoxy.

I’ve previously mentioned a new movie titled, “Holy Ghost,” and how it appeared to be unbiblical.  Well, I’m not disappointed in that initial belief — the movie is by heretic Bill Johnson and his Bethel Church!  You just know it has to be unbiblical with that starting point.

Gary Gilley has a good review of a new book which challenges teachings by Tim Keller.  For all the good teachings Keller might have, I think this book would demonstrate why we should not recommend anything by Keller.

Lastly, just this morning I read an excellent analogy by Elizabeth Prata.  I don’t want to spoil it for you — go read it for yourself.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

I’ve been quite occupied lately and unable to get time to post a blog article.  (Well, I have posted some on my other blog, but those are easy to just copy out.)

Anyway, I spent a couple days in the Chicago area, and my desktop computer was down for repairs for five days.  Then there were some ministries out of town, band practice for an upcoming concert, and even a memorial service for the son of a friend.  And now my yard needs mowed and my gardens are overgrown with weeds!

Speaking of something being overgrown with weeds — that’s sort of what is happening to the church as the pure teachings for the Word are being overgrown by false teachings from every quarter!  Some of what I’m reporting today might be a week or two old, but it may still be the first place my readers have seen it.

False teacher Ed Young has taken a page from the Benny Hinn playbook for seeking money from his gullible congregation.  (By the way, Christians DO NOT TITHE!!!!)

The Presbyterian Church (USA) has finally declared official approval of same-sex fake marriage.  After giving tacit approval to homosexuality and same-sex unions for years, at last there is no more pretense!  But they’ve even made another heinous decision; they’ve struck down “a resolution condemning the killing of babies born alive during abortions.”  It’s difficult for me to believe that any real Christian remains in that denomination.

An example of how perverse, apostate, heretical the Episcopal Church is the “transgendered priest” delivering a sermon.  (By the way, “transgender” is a load of psychobabble - there is no such thing; mutilating one’s body doesn’t change their gender.)

Ever wonder what apologists mean when we talk about churches being “liberal”?  Christian Apologetics & Resource Ministry has a good list of the elements of liberalism.

Talking about liberal churches - the United Methodist Church fits just about all those elements in CARM’s list.  They have now decided to re-instate an apostate “pastor” who presided at his son’s same-sex fake marriage.  Like the PCUSA, the UMC is dropping all pretense of being against homosexuality.

Beth Moore is really getting more and more bizarre in her teachings.  So why do pastors allow her junk in their churches?!?

I don’t often direct my readers to No Compromise Radio because of their very heavy Calvinist leanings, but this one is some good information about false prophet Ellen G. White of the Seventh-day Adventists.  Just another example as to why I call the SDA a cult.

The Watchman Fellowship has posted a new profile on the Hebrew Roots movement.

Lastly, Tim Challies tells us about the lessons he’s learned from false teachers.
