We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Agglomeration

I’ve been bombarded with items this past couple weeks and the items really need to be broadcast to as many Christians (and even non-believers) as possible; we need to teach discernment and educate people about the truth of the Christian faith and doctrines.

I’m going to start, though, with an excellent teaching about REAL spiritual warfare. You don’t need to “bind” Satan (and can’t anyway).

A good article exposing the false idea of “many paths to God” is by Don and Joy Veinot of Midwest Christian Outreach apologetics ministry.

Biologos purports to teach about God and science but they really deny the Word of God and don’t even use real science; they just make speculations, assumptions and assertions about the past and therefore ignore what God tells us. Answers In Genesis has a 3-part examination of Biologos’ heresy and false teachings, as well as responding to their claims of misrepresentation. Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.  I strongly suggest avoiding the use of Biologos for any research.

Sometime back I read an article about the relationship between David and Bathsheba, with a claim that David raped Bathsheba. I don’t remember the author but I just don’t see that in Scripture. When a well-known and (too-well) respected teacher such as John Piper teaches this, I have to alert my readers again to avoid Piper’s teachings like the plague.

Slain in the Spirit” is a fraud. It has become a popular teaching by TV heretics as well as by those leading the many false revivals. Biblically, there is no such thing.

Lighthouse Trails has an excellent short article (available also as a booklet) expose major problems with “The Chosen” video series. Christians should not be watching or recommending this blasphemous trash.

Jennifer Eivaz is a New Apostolic Reformation “prophetess” (as will as an “associate minister”). Of course she is “par for the course” when it comes to the NAR, even though I’ve never before heard of her! Famine in the Land is an excellent site for keeping up with the false teachings of the NAR, Hillsong, Bethel, et al. I first read of Eivaz via a 2017 article from them which was recently posted on Facebook. The other post, from 2019, was also recently posted on FB and it reviews her book Glory Carriers, which was mentioned in the 2017 article. This woman’s teachings are dangerous—have nothing to do with her!

The meme at the beginning of this post comes from an article exposing Bethel Music as a “Trojan Horse” of false teachings. In this vein, Midwest Christian Outreach has an article discussing other ministries’ music and the “worship wars” among churches which have developed over the years.

The Presbyterian Church (USA) continues it’s spiral of heresy and other false teachings as they bear false witness against Israel with claims they are enslaving the so-called “Palestinians” and false claims in regards to the founding of Israel (among the many other false teachings promoting the LGBTQ agenda, women in the pulpit, etc).

Michael O. Emerson provides “learning resources” for “Christian leaders and their institutions,” yet he claims that 2/3 of “white practicing Christians are not followers of Christianity” but are “followers of the religion of whiteness.” He has brought Critical Race Theory to Christianity to make white Christians nothing but a bunch of racists. So why are “Christian leaders and their institutions” wasting money with this racist?

Beth Moore is now whining that John MacArthur has not apologized for hurting her feelings by speaking the truth.

Well, if you have the time I have three videos to recommend for your education (usually listen to these types of videos while doing other things):

J.D.Greear laments that real Christians are leaving his “woke” church. The video is just short of 24 minutes long

As I have noted in previous posts, the Passion Translation” of the Bible is a dangerous publication coming from the NAR. This video exposes some of the issues with it. 38 minutes long.

This last video is almost 45 minutes long, but exposes some dangerous wolves posing as Christian teachers. Some of the examples are claims of channelling God, claims to speak for God, claims that God has a covenant with the USA, and many false prophecies by so-called “prophets.”

The Heresy of Biologos

If anyone really needs more proof as to the unbiblical and heretical nature of the Biologos organization, just read their statement about human origins.

They claim Genesis is erroneous and evolution is true.  Their fallacious reasoning has been responded to so many times that it is hard to fathom why they use the same trite examples of why Genesis has to wrong. (Pay attention to the names they mention as references — these are more heretics!)

Don Veinot, in the 9/15/16 Midwest Christian Outreach e-mail news, provides a good response:
If this is true, Genesis is little more than faith fables and Jesus, who the New Testament describes as being God by whom all things were created was simply a scientific illiterate since He believed and affirmed the historicity of Adam and Eve.

One other thought. About 15-20 years I was asked to debate a professor at a local college on creation vs. evolution. I proposed that if we granted as a starting point that the universe just popped into existence and some primordial soup just happened to appear on one rock in space we now call earth and in that very hostile environment and 21 amino acids popped into existence, somehow joined themselves together, continued by some miracle to continue existing as the spark of life. If all of that was in place as a starting point, how did we get from a-sexual reproduction to male-female sexual reproduction? What were the incremental steps in between? In fact, male-female reproduction is so complex that all parts must be in place and working in order for reproduction to occur. You would need a fully functioning male to pop into existence ready to reproduce. A fully functioning female to pop into place ready to reproduce. This would have to happen at about the same time in history and it would have to happen in about the same geographical location. How would Darwinism account for what would seem to be a miraculous creation event? After few minutes of silence the professor said that he did not know but that someday those answers would be discovered. My response? "And you know this by faith?" That seemed to end the debate. I am not sure the authors of the new book are on any better ground.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

Where did this nonsense about “Love Offerings” come from?!?!  I’m really tired of this phrase, and while looking for some reason behind it, I came across this article by another person tired of this phrase.  (Some really judgmental comments on this post surprised me.

Biologos is now promoting not only evolution, but also outright heresy.

Testing your charismatic experience against the Word of God.

Christianity Today Astray has crossed the lines of decency.   They long ago crossed the line into paganism and false teachings, but they aren’t even decent about it any more.

More Patricia King lying nonsense.  Why oh why does anyone listen to here?!??!

Just as bad is Heidi Baker - again.  How in the world do these people get where they are?!?!  (I’m still trying to figure out just what an “oily life” is - what the heck does it mean?!?!)

Spiritual Gift tests are bogus.  They are nothing more than copying the idea of

Beth Moore—high school girl.

Via Doug Evans I learned this week that Greg Laurie is now on the heretic TV station TBN.  As I said last time, he is sliding into apostasy for popularity.  Read Doug’s article for more information about Greg.

Another horrid “Christian” movie coming soon will be sure to sell out many theaters, and the associated marketing of books, journals, study guides, etc, will overtake the “Christian” book stores minefields.  “The Young Messiah” claims to be biblical, but since we know virtually nothing biblically about that period of Jesus’ life it has to be all made up out of peoples’ apostate minds.  Of course it is IMMEDIATELY unbiblical by making Jesus’ brothers and sisters to be his cousins, because that is the Romanist teaching in order to keep Mary a perpetual virgin — a totally unbiblical concept.  The actor portraying “Jesus” looks very girly - about as feminine as it gets. The list of apostates and heretics promoting it doesn’t surprise me.   Save your money.  (Here’s another good review.)

The “apocalypse” examined by a host of false prophets just demonstrates the mess that can happen when one leaves Scripture behind.
Speaking of false prophets, Doug Evans has an excellent article starting off a series on the New Apostolic Reformation.  These guys are dangerous.

The Mark Driscoll plot thickens.

More deceit in the Mormon church - fake reviews of the Book of Mormon.

Some good information via video on another cult, the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The Cripplegate is analyzing Rick Warren’s Celebrate Recovery program.  You can pretty much assume that, coming from Warren & Co., it will be unbiblical psychobabble.  Part 1 is here, part 2 is here. (Just be careful of the TULIPs in this review.)

Mary Dalke has a very thorough post examining Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling book, with good warnings against it.  The post also addresses ecumenicism.

To end with some humor, there’s a new Christian satire site, The Babylon Bee. I was especially amused with this article, while this one really pointed to the modern idea of teaching from movies — no matter how horrid they may be!

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies.

Some big news over the past week or so has been about Rick Warren’s capitulation to Rome.  A YouTube video has been posted, showing Warren’s discussion.  It takes 41 minutes, but is enlightening.  Aside from him calling the Pope, “Holy Father,” quoting the horrid “The Message,” and his much bragging about Saddleback, his books, courses, etc, he has some good things to say about marriage.  If only he had stuck to the subject of marriage and self!

Elizabeth Prata posted a couple 15-minute videos of James White examining Warren’s capitulation to Rome.  Find them here and here.

Oh, and since I mentioned Warren’s use of “The Message,” you might want to look at the new tract booklet about this corruption of the Bible at Lighthouse Trails Research Ministry.  It should be enough to prove how corrupt The Message is.

Erin Benziger has some more comments about Ann Voskamp’s book, “One Thousand Gifts.”  The book is rife with false teachings.

Christine Pack over at Sola Sisters posted an article about the Hebrew Roots Movement and Christmas.

But, “Is Christmas Day Rooted in Paganism?  Nope.  However, another humorous view of the same question might just give you a chuckle.

Answers In Genesis has many times posted articles about the dangerous and compromising teachings coming from the BioLogos organization.  This week I found another site examining why BioLogos is dangerous to Christian education.

Don’t let anyone tell you that “Allah” is an acceptable name for the God of the Bible.

I have previously posted information about the apostasy of the Disciples of Christ denomination, but Neil has added another log onto that fire.

Just when you think that the seeker-sensitive and market-driven church mentality has reached its limit for worldliness, you come across an article like this — which add more fuel to the fire of the apostasy at the Disciples of Christ!

A hat tip now to Erin for pointing us to this video, “Christian Girl Instagram.”  Good humor to end this post with!
