We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Agglomeration

There are some good articles I come across in my daily feeds which I think need to be shared. There are some articles about the apostasy and heresy taking over the church and these alerts also need to be shared. So buckle up for a roller-coaster ride.

Beware of The Hidden Unchristian Belief of TOP Progressive Christian Influencers.

Why you should not consume bad Christian books/movies.

The False Gospel of the Enemies Within the Church. Sounds like a video I want to see!

The New Evangelical Latitudinarians, Emptying Christianity of All Meaning.

Why are so many kids rejecting Christianity? Look at their parents.

NO church or individual Christians should be listening to the shallow and theologically poor music/songs from Hillsong. Hillsong is an apostate, blasphemous, and often heretical organization with funding help coming from the sales and use of their music. The leadership has moral issues, just as every false church and cult has. Check out the latest from Brian Houston. I have quit a few copies of the PFO Journal with my article exposing Hillsong; if you would like one just ask and I’ll send you a copy.

Time to abandon AWANA!!!

A real kooky false teacher of whom I never heard—Kathryn Krick.

A perfect example of why I always called this magazine, “Christianity Astray.”

Michael Brown continues to endorse rank heretics — this time it’s Kevin Zadai.

Kenneth Copeland — as bad a false teacher as it gets.  Stay away from this voracious wolf!

Benny Hinn is still just as much a tool of Satan as he has always been. The man is not a Christian nor has he ever been.

When the emperor is naked, it isn’t hate speech to tell him he is naked. Just so, it isn’t hate speech to refuse to participate in the “transgender” delusion. This Christian band is obviously not really Christian.

Tim Keller helps promote the LGBT views of Revoice.

First Baptist Church Orlando, FL, is definitely apostate and no Christians should associate with them. Thank you John MacArthur for rebuking them.

The Association of Related Churches is a hotbed of immorality and scandal.

Charismaniacs bring disgrace to the Church.

The Good - For Education and/or Edification

Why is sex so complicated? Good discussion of love vs sex.

Why modern-day prophets never saw this pandemic coming. Simple answer: because they are false prophets! Good analysis of all that is wrong with the prophetic movement, including how false teacher Michael Brown supports them.

The Charismatic Mishandling Of Mark 16:9-20

More Wolves and False Teachings

More heresy from Rome — the Pope wants to unite with other religions in prayer!

An excellent book review of Experiencing God. It is a dangerous book.

Benny Hinn — it’s God’s fault that pastors fornicate.Hi

Andy Stanley continues to prove what a false teacher he has become. He fails to understand that the faith developed BECAUSE of the Bible — the Old Testament. The Bible was assembled in portions in the FIRST century. WE, that is everyone who has lived since the 1st century, DID learn about the resurrection via the Bible. The gospels WERE the Bible for those in the 1st Century.

Fake healers exposed and challenged.

It’s a long video (2+ hours) but many false teachers/false prophets are exposed.  Kenneth Copeland, one of the main targets, is obviously demon-possessed.

Tony Evans says God needs our permission to intervene on earth!

More evidence that the ELCA Lutheran denomination is heretical.

Hillsong, Changing the Bible one Gender at a time. But what else can you expect from a cult.

More Wolves and False Teachings

Todd Bentley — typical behavior of a cult leader.  The man has proven over and over that he is not a Christian.

Michael Brown — sigh. AND, here is also a good exposure of this dangerous wolf’s history of supporting numerous wolves and false teachings.

This is what passes for “worship” in apostate churches.

Steven Furtick — again.  And again.

An example of why Jackie Hill Perry should be avoided like the plague. Good open letter to her — she should heed it.

This is what passes for “tongues” and “interpretation” on heretic Jim Bakker’s show.

This woman is not a Christian, but she is a priest — a priest of Satan.

Another Christian school capitulates to the homosexualists.

Kenneth Copeland is of his father, the devil. He is about as big of a fraud as it gets.

When you see this sort of nonsensical, aberrant, unbiblical teaching, you KNOW you’ve found a false teacher (and probably not even a Christian)!

The Road Away From Him — Enneagram.

The ELCA has proven again that it is NOT a Christian church.

No, Benny Hinn has not repented.  As long as his books aren’t pulled and as long as he stays filthy rich from false teachings, he isn’t repenting. After all, he’s “repented” twice before!

Bethel Church’s Jesus Culture sings blasphemy and heresy.  Go figure.

An example of how Roman Catholics behave as brainwashed cult members.

This is what happens when satan is allowed to take part in your church.

What is it with church leaders who feel the necessity to kow-tow to the practitioners of sexual perversion — sexual behaviors which God in no ambiguous terms hotly condemned?!?!

Bad and Ugly Happenings Among Jesus’ Church

The apostasy is just getting worse by the day, as too many places in Scripture predict.  There are a lot of teachers, teachings, and groups which need to be marked and avoided.  This post will link to articles of exposing some of the worst — worst because they are sucking in too many non-discerning people.

Jennifer LeClaire proves how hypocritical false teachers can be.

Oh the stunts some churches will go through to be “relevant.”

Proof that followers of Benny Hinn are biblically ignorant and are nothing more than a cult.

The Pope’s false and demonic teachings.  He also needs to mind his own business and quit preaching gun-control.

You know a song has to be bad for Christianity Today Astray to pan it.

Dangerous false teachers seem to multiply on a daily basis to where I can’t keep up with who’s who!  I just learned of a new whack-a-doodle this week, Ryan LeStrange.  Avoid him like the plague.

Bill Hybels and Willow Creek.  Mega Churches seem to often lead to star mentality by the pastor, which leads to all sorts of sins.  But Willow Creek has never been a place real Christians should attend.  You’ll notice in the list of elders who signed the statement that there are women, violating the command against women in authority in the Church. Just one of many false and aberrant teachings from Willow Creek over past few decades.  But as for Mega Church star teachers falling, Hybels isn’t alone. (H/T to Doug Evans)

Andy Stanley continues to prove why he is not qualified to be a pastor.

The Episcopal Church continues their spiral to hell.

Beth Moore whines about her treatment by men, but it appears to me it is not about misogyny as she claims, rather, those who snub her are probably sick of her false teachings and putting herself up as a “leader in the conservative Evangelical world.”  She is not only a false teacher, but she continues to put herself in a position of teaching authority over men. Perhaps she feels all her “direct revelations from God” allows her to disregard what the Bible actually teaches.  This response to her is right on track.

The humorous
Joel Osteen would probably do this!

Good, Bad, and Ugly

Well I got my computer back for the second time this past Monday, and it’s all fixed.  But it’s been a very chaotic week, so some of this stuff I’ve collected you may have already seen on other sites. On Monday I played for the graveside service after a funeral for a friend who died; 88-year-old Korean War veteran.  Tuesday the air conditioner got fixed after being without it for five hot and humid days.  Wednesday we traveled 93 miles north so I could play for a graveside service — one I got paid for!  Thursday was morning haircut and vet appointments, with evening band practice (70 miles east).  Yesterday was doing some service for an elderly couple, then up to the airport to photograph a rare, freshly restored B-29 bomber arrival, followed by a late lunch date with my wife.  Returning home for 15 minutes, we then headed back to the airport for a 3:30 appointment with a friend who works at Rockwell-Collins and who got me a pass to tour the B-29 (which was on its way to Oshkosh but stopped in Cedar Rapids to allow R.C. employees to tour it because R.C. did a lot for them).  We stood in line for 1.5 hrs and watched a nasty storm building (got some great photos of the storm) and, just when we were about 5 minutes from our turn to go inside the plane the downpour began and we were all ushered into the hangar.  Well I decided that was the end and we headed on into town to pick up photos which had been processed the previous day.  By the time we got home it was almost 7:30.  Whew!  Oh, and we got an inch of needed rain.  So now let’s look at this week’s news.

The Good:
A good examination of the reason “The Message” is to be avoided at all costs!

The Watchman Fellowship has published a profile exposing John Dominic Crossan.

Fred has posted episode six of his review of the book, “Navigating Genesis.”

Neil examines the Problems With Pro-Gay Theology.

I wish this was really true.

Good article about real spiritual warfare.

The Bad:
David Jeremiah is now promoting false teacher Sarah Young.

A Catholic university has bought into the “Islamaphobia” lie.  Wasting donors’ money.

A Trojan horse in women’s ministry.

The Ugly:

Eugene Peterson came out in favor of same-sex unions.  Oh, wait a minute, he has done some flip-flopping about them; Lifeway said they’d pull his books and suddenly he decided such unions weren’t right after all.  Another bad thing about this is that SBC leader Russell Moore says Christians should still read and learn from Peterson!

This is some old Benny Hinn stuff, including Suzanne Hinn’s teaching about a Holy Ghost enema, but it demonstrates just what charlatans they are (a commenter said that this isn’t Benny Hinn’s wife, but this article contradicts that claim).  These people are not Christians.

The love of money leads many “evangelicals” to embrace pro-gay theologyThis article demonstrates the same problem.

Mary Dalke has a very thorough study about the Roman Catholic Virgin Mary (which isn’t the Biblical mother of Jesus) and the so-called apparitions of her.  The RCC idolatry of Mary is a very ugly and demonic doctrine.

Good, Bad, and Ugly

The Good:
5 signs your church might be heading toward progressive Christianity.

Don’t compromise creationism with any hint of secular science ideology.

Who are the real Pharisees

What does the Bible teach about abortion?

The Bad:
Beth Moore continues her false teaching joining hands with other false teachers and heretics.  She has absolutely NO credibility.  And if that isn’t enough, she has another new book with more false teaching.

Another Catholic institution favors the LBGTQ crowd over true Christians.

The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel is a charismatic denomination founded by Aimee Semple McPherson, a woman of not only questionable doctrines but also of questionable character.  Perhaps members of this groups should think about whether they should be a part of such a church.  I’ve known members who are quite off base with some of their charismatic ideas.

The Ugly:
An example of all that is wrong with Michael Brown as a theologian/Christian teacher.  But it gets even worse.  Then his dishonesty raises up to protect himself from exposure.

Benny Hinn is NOT a real Christian, rather he is a wolf who has led millions of people astray.  This article is a good summation of why no one should be promoting him, appearing with him, following him in any way.

Steven Furtick has gone full-blown New Apostolic Reformation, joining lots of NAR heretics.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

I’ve been way too busy this past week or so, but I have been collecting links as I’ve gotten the chance to read — So you are in for a long one!  I like looking at some other blogs which have similar “roundups,” and while they usually have items I’ve already seen, they also have items which I hadn’t seen.  I want to give a general “hat tip” to these sites, and recommend them:
Asleep No More
Guarding the Deposit
Eternity Matters (although Neil doesn’t have his “Round Up” as often as before)
Do Not Be Surprised…

There are many more blogs I follow, but they don’t have routine “roundups.”

Let me start this week’s “RAAH” by telling you of a personal experience I had yesterday.  A local “Christian” book store, “Lemstone,” is part of the “Parable” book store chain.  The owner is retiring, so they are having a close-out sale to clean out their inventory (25% off yesterday).  So yesterday after church we decided to see if there were some books or other items we could use.  I did get a copy of one of my favorite books, “I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist,” so we have one available for giving away.  My wife got about 200 “Pass it On” cards, which we usually leave with tips at restaurants.  But I found walking around that store to be very distressing.  Except for the Bible shelf (which also included garbage like “The Message” and “The Story”), I would say probably 80% of the publications they sold were by false teachers and heretics.  The aberrant and heretical teachings in these books are what makes these “Christian” bookstores so spiritually dangerous.  Of course they also had a huge Catholic section, which, like Family Christian Stores, was added over a decade ago so as to make more money.  After all, isn’t making money more important than protecting people from false teachings?  (Yes, that is a rhetorical question.)  There were so many pictures of “Jesus,” with so many variations, that I saw that as proof that these are just idols of people’s own making.  The “religious” junk filling the store, besides the books, was mostly useless and also promoting false teachings.  So, in my opinion, this city will be better off spiritually with the demise of this store.  Now if only the Family Christian Store would also go under…

The big news this past week or so (besides Bruce Jenner having himself mutilated so he can pretend to be a woman) was about one of the Duggar men having a sinful past.  Well, I never watched the show, but I knew they were Gothardites, and part of the patriarchy and “quiverfull” movements, so nothing which came out surprised me.  What is good about this situation is that lots of exposure is being given to the false teachings the Duggar family follows.  What is bad is that the media makes it look as if this is normal Christianity.  Some examples of informative articles are this one about Gothard’s teaching about sex and this one about Gothard’s Advanced Training Institute’s home-schooling material.  Then there is this article about the entire worldview of the Duggar family; be sure to examine the numerous articles the author links to.  These, and many articles like them, demonstrate just how bizarre these types of cultic movements can be.  We must remember, however, that, contrary to what the media says, this is not a “fundamentalism” problem — it is a legalism problem.

Speaking about Bill Gothard, he has a new web site - or does he?

If you want to see what happens when you mix feminist theology with false prophets, just take a look at this article, and watch the video.  Female Benny Hinns, and about as unbiblical as it gets.

Matt Chandler demonstrates why he is not qualified to be a pastor.

Homosexual Heretics

Interesting video about “Modern Worship?”  If you let it continue, you will find the next couple videos to also be of interest.

A couple months ago I wrote an article explaining why Jesus would not want us to serve a same-sex fake wedding.  The arguments I used to demonstrate why He would not have us do so can also be used for why Christians should not even attend a same-sex fake wedding.  By attending, we are giving approval to the lie being passed of as a wedding to marriage, and approving what God has condemned is rebellion against God.  Yet a Calvary Chapel pastor thinks that attending such a blasphemous event can be okay if the couple aren't Christian!  So it is okay to sanction sin by non-Christians?

Answers in Genesis provides reviews for episode eight and episode nine of “A.D., The Bible Continues,” demonstrating the unbiblical nature and anti-historical nature of much of the series.

Commentator Matt Walsh has a good article about Christians denying the existence of Satan, and the new “Charlie Charlie” game.

Some people can be great Bible scholars, but still can’t be trusted.  Craig Blomberg has a very low view of Scripture.  In the weekly email (6/4/15) from Midwest Christian Outreach apologetics ministry, L.L. (Don) Veinot said, “I suppose I am not overly surprised. When we reviewed his book, How Wide the Divide in our article, "Why the Divide?" where we learn from Craig Blomberg that Evangelicals and Mormons agree ‘The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one eternal God.’ A line from a Simon and Garfunkel song is echoing in my mind as I think about Blomberg's grasp on the Bible, ‘Slip slidin' away.’”  I read that book by Blomberg, and learned he really has no clue about Mormonism.

Another false prophecy by Benny Hinn as he seeks to enrich himself even more.

Finally, maybe you’ll be happy to know that heretic Creflo Dollar is going to get his jet anyway.  I’m sure the money will come from his “church” coffers anyway.
