We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Did They Really Say That?!?

?!?

The act of describing disease - its symptoms, locality, and fatality - is not scientific. Warning people against death is an error that tends to frighten into death those who are ignorant of Life as God. Thousands of instances could be cited of health restored by changing the patient’s thoughts regarding death.
A scientific mental method is more sanitary than the use of drugs, and such a mental method produces permanent health.
Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p.79.

Where does one start with this? Death is sure for everyone; that is the Biblical teaching. All the mental gymnastics in the world will not change that fact that everyone will indeed die.

So many charlatans such as Eddy and many in the Word of Faith crowd claim healings of all sorts, as well as resurrections from the dead. And they all say the same thing: “Thousands of instances could be cited,” but they never cite any. They just tell anecdotes and their followers accept it all as true.

This statement says that describing diseases “is not scientific.” I wonder how the medical field has been able to do it for so many years? The medical field has cured many diseases by describing symptoms which could be acted upon, by describing the locality in the body so procedures could be used to correct such diseases, and describing how they could be fatal if not acted upon - and that some disease cannot be cured yet, leading to fatality. Eddy says one just has to have a state of mind to conquer diseases, and that such methods produce permanent health. Of course no evidence has been given for such assertions, nor could there be, because the whole idea is fraudulent.

Once again we see that Christian Science is neither Christian nor science.

So, where is Mary Baker Eddy living today? Where has she been hiding since December 3, 1910? Is she in her vacation home in Montana or the one in Florida?

All I can say is, she must be pretty wrinkled...at least in her mind.
