Thoughts from the Christian perspective: discernment issues as they relate to the current state of the church and society.

Hi Glenn,
This comment is not for posting, just a quick thought for you. I love that chart. It's from Proclaiming the Gospel's most recent newsletter (I'm also a subscriber). It would be great if you could note that, only for Mike Gendron to get credit, but also as another reminder to your readers about his ministry. I know you've mentioned him before. He is a very good resource for evangelism materials.

Thank you Carolyn,
Posting your comment is just fine, with your endorsement of Mike Gendron. I wondered where that chart came from: I found it posted on Facebook.
I just meant you didn't need to post my comment because it was just a "housekeeping" issue, no other reason. :)
Anyhow, I do appreciate the ministries that have good evangelism materials, especially since I don't have the spiritual gift of evangelism like some Christians do. Any Christian can share their faith with those who aren't saved, but to some believers, Christ has given an extra-strong, Holy Spirit-empowered ability as a spiritual gift (Ephesians 4:11). Mike Gendron has this gift as does Ray Comfort, and others like them. So as long as we're bringing up good evangelism resources, Way of the Master/Living Waters is also excellent! Materials from these types of ministries definitely are a help to the rest of the church.

I knew that :)
I knew you knew that! :)
Unfortunately, we've heard other believers say that everyone can and should evangelize equally well (which is untrue), as if it were something we can do in our own strength. Sometimes you can get criticized if you're not "out there witnessing" all the time.
Anyhow, I do find it helpful to remind myself about the spiritual gifts, because it is seldom-to-never that we hear pastors talk about the spiritual gifts from the pulpit. One of the only times the concept of spiritual gifts is brought up is when my husband and I use our Spirit-given gift of discernment to help protect the body from error, and we're rebuked for using it... (half laughing, half sighing)

Why would anyone try to defend this Mariolatry in light of the fact that the actions of these people so clearly resemble worship? The Church of Rome virtually elevates Mary to the level of a goddess!
Stop misrepresenting what we believe! We do NOT worship Mary, but venerate her. She said in Luke 1 she would be remembered in every generation. The meaning of the word worship in English did not always have the same meaning as it does today.
Papist,
Nothing here misrepresents Roman Catholic teaching, and you lie to claim otherwise.
Look at this article demonstrating the worship the RCC gives Mary:
