We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

What Is Your Motive?

The real motive for living the holy life should be that it pleases God, and that sin is displeasing to Him.  I must not set up my own little standard of holiness and rectitude and my little moral code, and pride myself that I am a man who always keeps his word and lives up to his own code and standard.  That is ultimately unChristian.  The world acts frequently from such a motive.  The only true motive for holy living is that it grieves God and offends Him when I am not holy.  My desire must be to please Him; not simply to obey the divine law, but to give joy to God and to the Lord Jesus Christ.  That should be the motive in all our actions and activities.

Great quote, here. This quote has become the iconic mantra of our day as we exalt ourselves above our LORD, Jesus, the Christ....and we hear this on a daily basis, equally amongst the churched and the unchurched, for their rests no difference any longer; the quote:

"I am so proud...."

Yes indeed, a Godly humility is a rare jewel amongst the sheep of Jesus, as well as those we call out as heathens. We expect pride to flourish amongst the pagans, and yet this pride of self, pride of life, lust of the eyes and lust of the flesh is growing quite well in our churches, unashamedly.

Stop a moment and listen to the conversations amongst those in our churches.....not one speaks of the glorious wonders of Jesus in saving the wretched lives of His people....

And Glen, if a true born again believers speaks of their own sins and how Jesus saved them from the pits of hell.....the believer is now considered "weird, strange, a "kook", one of those, you know, "Jesus freaks," self righteous, a Pharisee, and is

"Purposely Driven" out of the 501c. 3.

We say we love Jesus....just don't bring up His name or talk about His teachings....that will offend the faithful 501c. 3 church membership card holder.

Jesus still stands and knocks at the door..
