We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

The Passion Translation

This “Bible” version should be called a “mis-translation.”

The following article was posted on Facebook by Mike Winger.

====================

Important reminder:

An example of someone who is “getting away with it.”

THIS is the guy who wrote “The Passion Translation” of the Bible, which has been endorsed by Bethel Church and is still available on YouVersion and other apps, despite the fact that it has been panned by numerous scholars as unreliable.

Does Brian Simmons deny that he said these things?

This is stuff Brian Simmons, author of The Passion Translation of the Bible, has claimed… (I have video footage of all of these claims)

1. He's gone to heaven, grabbed two books from “the library of heaven” and brought them back to earth.

2. Billy Graham visited him in a dream.

3. God gave him secrets of Hebrew and Greek that he has used to make his new translation of the Bible.

4. His wife has levitated off the ground twice and has seven dreams from God every night.

5. The great last days harvest will begin in 2013 when every stadium in New York will be filled with evangelistic activities, and continue through 2020 when it will really ramp up. (Imagine someone prophesying that 2020 will be a great year of public outreach events). 30 million Americans will get saved during this time.

6. Between 2015 and 2016, 20% of Californians will get saved.

7. He went on a long ride, on a fiery chariot, through the northeast area of the U.S. and watched the sunrise with “a prophet whose name you would know.”

8. God touched his head and supernaturally “expanded the capacity” of his brain. Brian says he confirmed this with a “top brain mapping scientist.”

9. One day in the future God will give him a book that has all the unwritten works of Jesus. This will spark a massive new revival around the world.

10. Brian will one day have so much glory on him that people within a 50 mile radius will feel it.

11. One day soon (as of several years ago) God would literally put supernatural pillars of fire over church buildings so that people won’t have to ask where the church is. They will see it.

12. Brian understands the book of Revelation better than other people because God gave him the “spirit of revelation.”

13. Adam teleported around the Garden of Eden.

14. In order for him to translate the Bible he says “It was like I received a chip” in his head and that “Immediately, downloads came.”

15. Many of his supernatural revelations and new understandings of the Bible are not only included in his Passion Translation of the Bible but are also included in the footnotes.

16. Fire once shot out of his head and caught a church on fire. They had to call the fire department and replace the sound system.

17. He once went to the store to get milk and the glory of God was so powerfully on him that everyone he passed by just fell over. He first thought they were all having heart attacks but then realized it was the glory.

18. He doesn’t understand why more people won’t call the Holy Spirit “her.”

Some of these claims can be tested and some can not. The ones that can be tested (such as prophecy about stadiums and specific numbers of people getting saved) are demonstrably false. What does that tell you about the ones that can’t be tested?

Things to Think About!

False teacher Tim Keller has died. I’ve reported on his false teachings many times.

Evangelicals and Progressives: The Great Divide

You Shall Know Them by Their Fruits…

Here is another excellent article addressing the issue of How Should Christians View Transgender Day of Visibility?

Why I no longer use Transgender Pronouns—and Why You shouldn’t, either.

God bless Ken Ham for rebuking Andy Stanley.  Ray Comfort has a good 9-minute+ video explaining the issue.  This shows just how corrupt are Stanley and those who support him.

The Troubling Trend of False Teaching in the Church. Excellent video of a class which took place in a recent conference.

How Bethel and Hillsong Took Over Our Worship Sets. Don’t use anything from these apostate and often heretical groups.  If you do, you are helping to finance them.

Fire baptism? NO SUCH THING.

Allen Parr is a new one to me, but he’s a dangerous WOLF.

Lauren Daigle, false believer.

The Passion “translation” of the Bible is pure garbage.

Another example of the unbiblical/unChristian ideology of The Chosen: Supporting the whole “gay” agenda. More.  And a wee bit more.  Finally, there’s this one; if you haven’t stopped watching The Chosen due to unbiblical theology, then you need to stop watching it because it supports the LGBTQ agenda.

But…there are gay penguins, right?

Brian Simmons, False Teacher to Avoid

The following was posted on These Aren’t the Apostles You’re Looking For Facebook page on 4/21/23 :

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090095345514

This is the author of the "Passion Translation,” Brian Simmons.

Christian friend, if you use TPT, I care for you and simply wish to inform you. Simmons claims Jesus took him to Heaven to give him the keys to God's emotions that are supposedly lost in existing translations. He also claims that Jesus promised to bring him back to Heaven at a later time to give him John chapter 22 (There are only 21 chapters in John). He says this latter day revelation of John 22 will trigger the greatest revival of all time (The greatest deception would be more likely). He told this story to Sid Roth on "It's Supernatural". You can Youtube it.

The pictured quote is from a conference in 2014. He goes on to say, "It would have to be a Quartet". It's not taken out of context. I listened to hours of it...the context is even worse. He says in another talk during this conference that…”We are the reincarnation of Jesus Christ."

Simmons is a Charismatic mystic and some consider him to be an apostle. He is widely accepted in the hyper-charismatic movement which believes in new apostles and prophets. It's possible that you've never heard of it. You may even like TPT and I'm not trying to attack you personally. I have been deceived before. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. I've deconstructed a lot of erroneous beliefs and am rebuilding on the solid rock. We can build together.

Truth matters, and I still believe truth can be known. I can also hold to my beliefs without being nasty, so fear not. If Jesus said "Love your enemies", surely I can love a sibling in Christ with whom I disagree. I've made a ton of mistakes in discernment, which makes me eager to extend grace.

So grace to you, dear friend.

Agglomeration

I’ve been bombarded with items this past couple weeks and the items really need to be broadcast to as many Christians (and even non-believers) as possible; we need to teach discernment and educate people about the truth of the Christian faith and doctrines.

I’m going to start, though, with an excellent teaching about REAL spiritual warfare. You don’t need to “bind” Satan (and can’t anyway).

A good article exposing the false idea of “many paths to God” is by Don and Joy Veinot of Midwest Christian Outreach apologetics ministry.

Biologos purports to teach about God and science but they really deny the Word of God and don’t even use real science; they just make speculations, assumptions and assertions about the past and therefore ignore what God tells us. Answers In Genesis has a 3-part examination of Biologos’ heresy and false teachings, as well as responding to their claims of misrepresentation. Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.  I strongly suggest avoiding the use of Biologos for any research.

Sometime back I read an article about the relationship between David and Bathsheba, with a claim that David raped Bathsheba. I don’t remember the author but I just don’t see that in Scripture. When a well-known and (too-well) respected teacher such as John Piper teaches this, I have to alert my readers again to avoid Piper’s teachings like the plague.

“Slain in the Spirit” is a fraud. It has become a popular teaching by TV heretics as well as by those leading the many false revivals. Biblically, there is no such thing.

Lighthouse Trails has an excellent short article (available also as a booklet) expose major problems with “The Chosen” video series. Christians should not be watching or recommending this blasphemous trash.

Jennifer Eivaz is a New Apostolic Reformation “prophetess” (as will as an “associate minister”). Of course she is “par for the course” when it comes to the NAR, even though I’ve never before heard of her! Famine in the Land is an excellent site for keeping up with the false teachings of the NAR, Hillsong, Bethel, et al. I first read of Eivaz via a 2017 article from them which was recently posted on Facebook. The other post, from 2019, was also recently posted on FB and it reviews her book Glory Carriers, which was mentioned in the 2017 article. This woman’s teachings are dangerous—have nothing to do with her!

The meme at the beginning of this post comes from an article exposing Bethel Music as a “Trojan Horse” of false teachings. In this vein, Midwest Christian Outreach has an article discussing other ministries’ music and the “worship wars” among churches which have developed over the years.

The Presbyterian Church (USA) continues it’s spiral of heresy and other false teachings as they bear false witness against Israel with claims they are enslaving the so-called “Palestinians” and false claims in regards to the founding of Israel (among the many other false teachings promoting the LGBTQ agenda, women in the pulpit, etc).

Michael O. Emerson provides “learning resources” for “Christian leaders and their institutions,” yet he claims that 2/3 of “white practicing Christians are not followers of Christianity” but are “followers of the religion of whiteness.” He has brought Critical Race Theory to Christianity to make white Christians nothing but a bunch of racists. So why are “Christian leaders and their institutions” wasting money with this racist?

Beth Moore is now whining that John MacArthur has not apologized for hurting her feelings by speaking the truth.

Well, if you have the time I have three videos to recommend for your education (usually listen to these types of videos while doing other things):

J.D.Greear laments that real Christians are leaving his “woke” church. The video is just short of 24 minutes long

As I have noted in previous posts, the Passion Translation” of the Bible is a dangerous publication coming from the NAR. This video exposes some of the issues with it. 38 minutes long.

This last video is almost 45 minutes long, but exposes some dangerous wolves posing as Christian teachers. Some of the examples are claims of channelling God, claims to speak for God, claims that God has a covenant with the USA, and many false prophecies by so-called “prophets.”

Good and Evil

First, the good stuff:

Sheol, Hades, and Gehenna: are there differences?

Solid teaching about the tithe. I’ve said too many times that Christians do NOT tithe. (The article also exposes Bill Johnson as a false teacher.)

The New Apostolic Reformation is an heretical teaching by false prophets and false apostles. Learn their language.

To Be or Not to Be Accountable.  False prophets need to be exposed, period.

Ah, now the bad and downright evil:

Proof that the Pope does not represent Christ or God. The man has gone full-blown LEFTIST.

The Roman Catholic Church is more and more supportive of sexual perverts and deviancy. Proof that they do not speak for God. They really need to start excommunicating these so-called “Catholics.”  Especially Jesuits who are supposedly more devout!

Catholics have historically voted Demokrat, for some absurd reason. Well, this is what you get when you vote Demokrat, whether Christian or Catholic.

The blatant lies and false teachings behind the fraudulent Bible translation known as “The Passion Translation.” The video is long and I had to go back to it several times to finish listening while doing other things. However, the information and exposure of the fraud is well worth the time.

Clint Adams has a review of one of Jen Wilkin’s books. Just another example of her poor teaching.

About that “transgender” ELCA “pastor.”  A very good examination.

I keep warning you about Tim Keller.

Another false teacher I hadn’t previously heard of — Jennie Allen.

Andy Stanley is a vicious wolf.

False teacher Joseph Prince.  Followed by, false teacher Priscilla Shirer. And let’s just remind everyone that T.D. Jakes is also a false teacher, as well as a racist.

Gwen Shamblin, of the cultic “Weigh Down Workshop” and “Remnant Fellowship” was killed in a plane crash.  Two articles worth perusing about her:  “Weighed Down With False Doctrine” and “Weigh Down Workshop a Cult?”

CRU (i.e., Campus Crusade for Christ) is on a death spiral.

A great argument against women priests/pastors!

Stay away from World Vision.

One bit of Mormonism I hadn’t given much thought to is their belief that God ordained the Fall. Well, in this regard they are just like Calvinists; Calvinists say God has foreordained everything!

Hodge-Podge

I’ve come across many several articles lately which I feel need to be shared.

First, I’ll give you an article which has some good teaching about divorce and which I agree with.

The remaining links are to articles exposing the bad stuff invading the body of Christ and which you need to avoid!

Hillsong can’t seem to stay out of the limelight. Now they are being sued for failure to pay their bills.

Another reason to really hate Hillsong leadership. But don’t forget the false teachers who want spiritual unity with Muslims!

Stay away from any assembly which is a part of the Association of Related Churches (ARC); false teachings are part of their warp and weave.

Never, NEVER buy or read the heretical Passion Translation of the Bible.

Well, well; another false “pastor” is leaving the Southern Baptist Convention.

Bethel just gets worse by the day. This makes me want to puke. It is not from God.

More about those apologetic false prophets. But hey, Michael Brown, false teacher that he is, defends false prophets!

Beth Moore gets worse by the day.  Elizabeth Prata has a good back-story on Beth.

Real Christianity is being hijacked by pretenders.

Lisa Bevere is a teacher to really, really avoid.
