We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer
Therefore let God-inspired Scripture decide between us; and on whichever side be found doctrines in harmony with the word of God, in favor of that side will be cast the vote of truth. --Basil of Caesarea
Once you learn to discern, there's no going back. You will begin to spot the lie everywhere it appears.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. 1 Timothy 1:12

Are Christians Really Not to Judge?

I’ve addressed this claim several times in the past but this time I’m sticking to just Bible passages (NASB). So what does the Bible say?

Matthew 7:15: Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Judgment is needed to recognize and avoid a false prophet.

Luke 7:43: Jesus tells Simon, “You have judged correctly” in response to a question.

Luke 12:57: And why do you not even judge by yourselves what is right.

John 7:24:  …judge with righteous judgement.

1 Corinthians 2:15: But he who is spiritual appraises all things.

1 Corinthians 5:11-13:  But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he should be an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what business of mine is it to judge outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.

1 Corinthians 6:2-3: Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you not competent to form the smallest law courts? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, matters of this life?

1 Corinthians 10:15: I speak as to wise men; you judge what I say.

1 Corinthians 14:29: And let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment.

(Judging teaching)

2 Corinthians 11:3-4: But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted,  you bear this beautifully.

Judging teachings and teachers and even gospels.

Galatians 6:1: Brethren, even if a man is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness

Requires judgment.

Ephesians 5:11: Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them.

Judge deeds/actions.

Philippians 1:9-11: And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.

To approve requires judgment, discernment is judging.

1 Timothy 5:20: Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also may be fearful of sinning.

To rebuke requires judging.

2 Timothy 4:2:  preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with great patience and instruction.

One must judge to reprove, rebuke and exhort.

1 John 4:1: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Judging spirits, false prophets.

The Good and the Ugly

First, let’s have a couple of good articles:

How about an elder’s children?

Biblical judgment in a “Don’t Judge Me” World.

Now I can put you into a spiraling depression to see how Satan is destroying the church. But the warnings about these things is necessary because too many Christians follow these false teachers.

I can’t warn you often enough—Stay away from Bethel music! Stay away from the cult of Bethel, period — they are NOT “apostles”!

Joanna Gaines. A new one for me, but also a dangerous one. Heads up!

Beth Moore, and her ilk, just can’t keep their “mouths” shut—proving what horrid ideology they  promote; they hate conservative (i.e. biblical) Christianity.

How can they continue calling themselves Catholic?

An interesting commentary about the Vatican’s statement against same-sex fake marriage.

An excellent article about some teachings of Islam and why they vote for same-sex fake marriage.

Hillsong gets worse by the day.

Francis Chan just keeps getting worse.

These are not men of God, rather they use their position to enrich themselves.

John Piper just keeps sliding down that slippery slope to heresy.

SIGH!! — Sometimes Satan is working in overdrive.

The Pope says God made “gays” that way - totally absolving them of their sin. The Pope has been doctrinally heretical and apostate from the beginning but now he is supporting that which in the Old Testament God gave the punishment of death!

An excellent — although a bit lengthy — review of false teacher Alex Seeley’s sermon, Your Harvest Is Determined By The Seed You Sow. This is one teacher to avoid like the plague.

The Gospel Coalition long ago left the Gospel for the world. This is putrid.

“Transgenderism” invades a LEFTIST Australian church. Once you’ve left the fundamentals, anything goes.

Paula Price — another woman controlled by Satan.

Rick Joyner and Morningstar Ministries — EGADS!!

Continue to pray for good teachers to stand firm in the faith.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

How to make Christian music. (Yes, this is satire.)

Foolishness of Roman Catholicism.  This is occultic.

The number of goat-pens pretending to be Christian assemblies continues to grow.

False prophet/teacher/Christian Todd Bentley and those who support him.  This man is of Satan.

I
previously reported on “HerChurch” and its totally apostate nature, but this report gives more information.  Just another assembly of the apostate ELCA denomination.

So Christians can fornicate as long as it is “mutually pleasurable and affirming”?!?
This female “pastor” says, “single Christians don't need to abstain from sex to remain pure since being chaste is about moderation.”  Notice how liberals always redefine words so as to relieve themselves of guilt?  “Chaste” now means moderation in sex. “Marriage” means any two people joined (and maybe more people).  “Tolerance” means you have to agree with them. And so forth.
“McCleneghan believes it's unfair to ask single Christians who haven't been called to a life of celibacy to refrain from sexual intimacy when both men and women need sex.”
Hey, GOD!! Your rules are unfair!!! WOW!!!  Oh, and notice that people NEED sex.  And all this time I thought people lived just fine without sexual relations — as people have done for thousands of years.  Satan has to just love how humans reject God’s commands for sexual relations as they use sex for self-centered hedonism.  Be sure to notice which denomination this woman is a goat-herd for — the United Church of Christ; go figure — a totally apostate “church.”  (Oh, and would you believe that she doesn’t think the Bible is God’s infallible Word?)

Could you respond to Glenn Beck like this—do you have better biblical knowledge?

How many non-discerning Christians will buy this book, and how long will it be before we find it in Christian book stores?  The “angels” he converses with are not “angels of light.”  His description of the “other side” is totally unbiblical.

False teacher Steven Furtick now lets his wife do teaching from the stage.  Didn’t Paul say something to Timothy about this sort of thing?  Not only that, but the virtually worthless prattle she was preaching is good evidence that Paul was right!

Don’t the churches in the SBC teach God’s Word?  Apparently not when it comes to homosexuality.  The graphic showing other denominations is really sad because God’s Word is obviously to be ignored it society disagrees with it.

“Judge not”?  Yes, we are indeed to make judgments about all sorts of things.

This is what happens when pastors don’t teach discernment and don’t name names of false teachers.

YOU are not the bride of Christ.  I’ve been saying for years, which has sometimes led to long debates with people who vehemently disagree and who will even call me a heretic!

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

Money-back guarantee for your tithes if God doesn’t bless you?!?!  Now I’ve heard just about everything.  False teachers always have something new, don’t they?  Perry Noble is a world-class heretic, as are those who teach the same things he teaches; they are just shrilling for more money.  Run from such churches as fast as you can. (The whole issue of tithes for Christians is a lie to begin with — Christians do not tithe and were never told by God to tithe.)

Music segregation in church — good questions.

Steve Gaines, again.  VBS in his church is a wee bit wild and unbiblical.

A perfect example as to why Steve Cioccolanti is a false prophet.

AutoBibleCorrect.  Some good humor/satire from Elizabeth Prata.  Unfortunately, too many false teachers apparently use this App.

The Apologia Church — Hadn’t heard of this one before.  Just another group of people wanting to feel good about being spiritual without actually having to live like mature Christians.  Seeker-sensitive nonsense.

Ronnie Floyd — proven to be a false teacher.

Bill Gothard:  The Cult Next Door.

Can someone explain why the Methodist church shouldn’t be considered totally apostate?

An example of why the nutty NAR prophets are false ones!  H/T Doug Evans

Yes, we are to expose false teachers and even name them.

Another good article refuting the lie that Christians aren’t to judge.

I can’t add anything to this excellent commentary by Jeff Maples in regard to this travesty, except to say this is why our youth are so spiritually immature.

I don’t think Paul or Jesus would approve of this deception for spreading the gospel.  Nor do I think they would recommend pretend to be abased pagans!  The pragmatism of saying it permitted the delivery of a huge number of tracts is reprehensible.  Since when does pragmatism dictate our behavior?

If you don’t like what the Bible says about a particular sin, why don’t you just re-interpret it to modern cultural standards?  That’s what a couple of “leading” Anglican bishops want to do about homosexual behavior; they think “we need to change the church.”  I think they should make up their own religion and then they can do what they like.  (Oh, and contrary to a suggestion in the article, the command to multiply was NEVER for the Christian church — regardless of what so many Romanists and other legalists claim.)  Ken Ham has a good commentary on this situation.

For ending today’s episode: Benny Hinn can’t believe he’s still getting away with it.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

I’m not going to have time to do much reading of news items or writing anything for the next couple days, so I thought I’d get this “edition” of “RAAH” out this evening.  Lots of crazy things going on out there as Satan's web grows even wider.

Another very good review of Ann Voskamp’s horridly unbiblical book, One Thousand Gifts.

Good review of Steven Furtick’s book, “Unqualified,” as well as being a short review of Furtick himself! “Furtick-ology” proves Steven Furtick is a false teacher.

Lastly about Furtick, he doesn’t like to answer questions about his “ministry.”

Doug posted another article in his series on the New Apostolic Reformation.  Good stuff!

Fred posts the final episode of his excellent series on Continuationism.

When your church leadership refuses to exercise discipline for promoting sexual immorality, this is what you get.

Anne Graham Lotz — false teacher to avoid.

Should we judge others?  A good collection of Bible passage explaining that, yes, we should but that we need to make sure we are doing so properly.

Bill Gothard’s powerless gospel.

Morningstar Ministries and Rick Joyner — false teacher with a “ministry” of deceit.

Bethel Redding’s NAR false prophet and heretic Bill Johnson doesn’t want people to learn the truth about him.  He’s also a liar.

Finally, Gary E. Gilley examines C. S. Lewis.

Random Aberrations, Apostasies, and Heresies

This week I had a young lady ask me what I thought about Becky Tirabassi’s teachings; having never heard of her before, I started the “Google” thing.  This is my summation:

Her church is one of those “market-driven” types which has lots of programs.  Classes I read about are sort of “me” focussed, with some on “spiritual disciplines” which usually means mysticism, such as the emergent church movement.  In fact, the church just might be emergent, since they do not state their doctrine.  And I’d really like to know what a “pastor of assimilation” does (staff member)!

Becky violates Scripture by being a pastor—co-pastor with her husband.  That is a bad setup from the get-go.  From reading about her on the Internet, a lot of her teachings seem to appeal to emotions, especially with a lot of pop-psychology.  And her close association with Joyce Meyer — who is a rank heretic — is very concerning.  She talks a lot about having “
as much of the Holy Spirit as you want,” but we can’t have any more H.S. than He who lives in us.  That is a favorite claim of charismatics - you just need “more” of the Holy Spirit.

Becky might have some good teachings (as does Beth Moore), but I wouldn’t trust her at all.

Speaking of Beth Moore, she is  Adorable and Dangerous.   She has more false claims of revelation from God, and she narcigetes herself [link gone by 7/18/18] into Acts 16:14.  How bad can she get?!?!

The sometimes questionable issues with Kay Arthur.

HT to Erin at Do Not Be Surprised… for the next two items:

False teachers are now getting another venue to spread their lies —
on Netflix.

Mark Driscoll, who has been proven to be unqualified to be a pastor, is now starting a new church in Phoenix.  I guess he needs more people to abuse.

It’s that time of the year for seeker-sensitive false churches to bring out the sex and sensuality for their “sermons.”

Does the Bible really say we’re not to judge? Marsha West has an excellent article addressing this subject.  Of course anyone who has read my blog for any length of time knows my answer to the question.  As I noted on Marsha’s article, “If I had dollar for every time someone asked me if I confronted the accused false teacher IAW Matt. 18:15-17, I could take a cruise to Scotland!”

Doug Evans has an excellent article exposing Rick Joyner as a false prophet, let alone a false teacher!

Alec Satin has a great article about the Catholic practice of praying the rosary.

“The Passion Translation” is as bad as “The Message.”  Neither one are Bibles — just pretend Bibles pushing agendas.  Just like the cult versions.

Another example proving that the NAR people are bloviating false prophets.

Now that I’ve broached the subject of the NAR, here is a great collection of articles about the New Apostolic Reformation and all its false teachings.  These people are dangerous to the REAL Christian faith.

And, finally for today, Gary Gilley has good examinations of the “Toronto Blessing” and its offspring, the Brownsville Revival.  These circuses were nothing less than demonic.
