Hi Glenn,
Glad to see you "back in the saddle" with another roundup. Hope things are coming along well with your house. I have been praying.
Conrad Mbewe made some great points on how charismania has ended up so strong in Africa, didn't he? May those souls who have been deceived by the false charismatic movement, be genuinely saved!
WOF - what a disaster of a conference. I went to one many years ago and was none impressed. They've only gone from bad to worse. We women need to be exhorted with good solid teaching! Things like WOF are anything but that.
I remember learning about LDS weddings during a study on how to witness to other religions. How sad for those couples, to be denied sharing their joy with others, especially family. Sadder yet (or course) that they believe in a "different Jesus" and a "different Gospel", which cannot save.
Oprah - one of the biggest false teachers of today. Her newfound love of Rob Bell = no shock. Of course a year ago, she was linking arms with Osteen and Warren.

KJVO - one "inconvenient truth" - the apocrypha was in the original KJV. OOPS! Of course, some KJVOers will say the translators were "forced" to put it there. Really? That argument is self defeating, if you think about it. (God allowed sinful men to put non-canonical books (ie: apocrypha) in His infallible word??? Really???)
Al Mohler correctly rejects the worldview of the "four horsemen of old atheism", whose false teachings have permeated society. But for some reason, Mohler has fraternized with one of the authors of the four books that has utterly corrupted Christianity.

(The picture and felicitations between Mohler and Warren were from twitter from August 7, 2013.)
These things should not be so...

We are still haggling with the insurance company over their estimates for roof re-shingle and the roofer's estimates, but everything else has been approve for repairs - now we just wait for the repairs to actually take place!
Too many good teachers fraternize with Warren, and too many good pastors also promote his books. Very sad.
Hi Glenn,
Glad to hear so far that almost everything has been approved for repairing your house. Will pray for the roofing to be settled, and that all the repairs are done in a timely fashion.
You are so right, far too many good believers, including pastors and teachers, have undergone a major lapse of judgement in choosing to have an association with Warren. I do hope they repent. Giving credence to a false teacher always has bad results.

I glean so much from your Random... posts. Thanks for all your hard work. Sadly, discernment seems to be lacking in the vast majority of the church today.
thought i left some questions like more than a week ago... just wondering if you got that. signed it anonymous. tnx.
Gabby,
No, I haven't seen any questions other than what has been posted.
About an NIV questionnaire by Rex Cobb distributed to some who attended a conference last yesr, but wc i found was in utube . Just saw ur reply but need to be rushing off now, but will try to post again, tnx.
Here, i've a copy of the note saved after all:
I cannot read riplinger now, and in fact gave some attention to the KJV only issue only recently. But what got my attention was a handout given my hubby from a conference. Included was the niv Bible quiz by rex l. cobb, wc I just found was on utube. Included are 25 questions, ans. of wc are said to be found in the kjv, but not the niv. At the bottom it asks “So now what do you think of your "accurate, easy to understand, up to date Bible"?”
For ex., no. 4 asks Pilate’s first name according to Mat. 27.2. No. 11 asks how many apostles were w/ Jesus according to Lk. 22.14. And 21. Copy Rom. 16.24 from the NIV.
And it said the 1611 kjv was from the Textus Receptus consisting of more than 5000 mss in 15 Biblical languages agreeing tog., w/o error or corrections in the OT or NT. Whereas the newer translations were fr. the Alexandrinus, Vaticanus and Sinaiticus w/ large portions missing incl. first 24 chaps.of Matthew in the Alexandrinus… More!
Want to read more on this, but for now, what of the 3 RC mss said to be the basis of all new translations? Can you help me w/ this. Thank you.
Gabby,
The KJVO crowd looks for trivial and insignificant differences in manuscripts, but never shows a difference in doctrine, weakening of doctrine, etc.
I don't have time or space to address all your questions on this comment string, but I can suggest you spend a lot of time on the site to which I linked so as to see all such KJVO claims debunked. You might also want to read the series I have been posting on the book, "New Age Bible Versions." In that series I am taking a chapter-by-chapter look at the claims against "new version" Bibles. I've posted up through Chapter 14, and hope to have Chapter 15 finished within a week. I think most of your questions will be answered either in that series or by searching on the link I posted.
Suffice it to say, KJVO is false teaching in and of itself.
