Salt of the Earth

The phrase, “You are the salt of the earth,” is not only a description of the Christian. It is an indictment or incrimination of the world. The teaching of our Lord and His apostles is that the world is in a state of corruption. It manifests constant tendency to deteriorate. It is putrefying. It cannot stop itself from going bad.
