Chuck Missler, as well as many others, claim that there are secret messages in the Bible which can be found by discovering “codes.” Here’s a good article examining Missler’s nonsensical “discovery.”
Steven Furtick’s church now has a water-slide baptismal — it must be true, because I saw it on the Internet.
Is the tithe required of Christians? Absolutely not.
The Bad:
New Calvinism is worse than the old Calvinism! Tim Keller is representative of their apostasy.
Michael Brown continues to prove he is a false teacher. Scripture says NOTHING about any time one shouldn’t be exposing false teachers.
Beth Moore is again exposed as a teacher to really, really avoid.
Leonard Sweet — another one of those “only love matters” false teachers.
Roman Catholic superstition never ceases to surprise me. And they claim this stuff is “Christian”!!
The Ugly:
I guess Clayton Jennings thinks tooting your own horn while doing good works makes up for his abuse of women. Moody Radio interviewed this horrible example of a believer, but to their credit, they apologized when they were told what a predator he is.
Bethel Church’s Bill Johnson’s SOZO “ministry” is very, very dangerous.
Bethel Redding and SOZO. Long video, but very informative about such horrendous false teachings.
Bethel, Hillsong, and associated false teachers are going to “bring Heaven to Earth.” Just look at the names of the participants to know who to avoid.

ReplyDeleteNo tithing in the church - also an encouraging post as a reminder of sound truth! We have NEVER tithed. Not once, ever, because - and the praise goes to the Lord for this - that was one of the first, most crystal clear truths we understood... that in Christ, we are living in a New and Better Covenant. :) In Christ, we are free... free to give, free to serve, free to love. Everything done with joy and thankfulness for what Christ has done for us!

ReplyDeleteTithing IS a requirement of N.T. Theology, open up your Bible to 1 Corinthians 16:1-2...And yes, we are still obligated to perform animal sacrifices!!

ReplyDeleteYou are DEAD WRONG. Tithing was ONLY for Israel and no one else. Please find in the N.T. where Christians are to tithe.
1 Cor 16:1-2 says nothing about tithing, rather it only speaks about offerings of no specific amount. Try reading 2 Cor. 9:7 -- THAT is the requirement for offerings.
And no, we are not to perform animal sacrifices -- where in the world did you come up with that one? Jesus was the last sacrifice.

ReplyDeleteI post such comments at this "anonymous" one so as to correct the thinking, which is most likely shared by many others. (tithing, that is -- since I don't know anyone who would suggest sacrificing is still required).
Thank-you for those Scriptures Glen. Many Baptist churches still teach that tithing is required in the New Testament. And for those who believe that tithing was required under the Old Covenant, they masterfully label "Tithes and Offerings" in their bulletins to cover both belief systems, so they can extract as much mammon as possible to foolishly spend on elevating themselves. The last Christian comedian contracted with this church made a whopping fifteen grand for his so called Christian comedy act.
ReplyDeleteGuess using the LORD'S name in vain sustains quite a lavish lifestyle in the visible Christian industrial complex. And when one of uppity women from that church asked me why I didn't attend their "Christian (?)" event, I stated that Jesus never charged a dime for sharing the Gospel, because His Gospel is free. She shut up, amazingly.
