Be Worthy of the Vocation

However packed your head may be with knowledge, if you are failing in your life you will be a hindrance to the spreading of the Kingdom, you will bring the cause of God and His Christ into disrepute.  But it is equally true to say that if your conception of the Christian life is that it means no more than that you live a good life, that you should be moral, and that doctrine is of no importance, again you will be a hindrance to the cause.  There must be true balance, we must be “worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called.”

D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Christian Unity: An Exposition of Ephesians 4:1-16, p.24-25
