The claim to have God's authority to these things.Glenn E. Is there some Scriptural admonition against establishing new traditions or forms of worship so long...again...as it doesn't supplant or conflict with Scriptural teaching? You'll note that most churches these days don't actually serve bread and wine during communion. Crackers/wafers and grape juice seems more and more common. They didn't do that in the early church. And before any church began serving wafers, it was never before practiced.

I'm probably as strict as you are with regard adhering to the teachings of Scripture. But some other "add-on" things are not problematic unless one can demonstrate how.Marshal Arthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01054268632726520871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6043971967398769903.post-33996499037237806222021-11-28T13:47:48.467-06:002021-11-28T13:47:48.467-06:00This is another example of the foolishness and non...This is another example of the foolishness and nonsense at Bethel Church, a bastion of heresy.

And it's not a matter of not being practiced in the early church, it's a matter of never before being practiced in church. So long as practices aren't anti-Christian, I don't see a problem. So long as such practices and traditions don't supplant true Scriptural teaching, I don't see a problem.
