We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make Christ acceptable to big business, the press, the world of sports or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our message is not a compromise but an ultimatum. A.W. Tozer

Mormon Changes

Anyone who knows anything about the Mormons knows that they change their history a lot, including over 4,000 changes made to the Book of Mormon!  The Doctrine and Covenants have also been changed as has the official "History of the Church.''

Whenever these changes are shown to Mormons, they come out with a boatload of excuses and denials.  Which is why I found this joke posted by John Merilatt on Facebook to be such a great parody.

How many Mormons does it take to change a light bulb?
At least six: One to change the light bulb; one to deny that there was any change made; one to say that we shouldn’t focus on the change – only the need for light; one to say we don’t teach that the light bulb needed changing in the first place; one to say that the changer was acting for himself and not as an official changer; and one to say “who cares who changed the bulb, don’t you feel the burning of the light?"
