Ingrid Schlueter over at A Slice of Laodicea has a really good post explaining a lot about why we in the apologetics ministries do some of what we do.
http://www.sliceoflaodicea.com/apologetics/why-a-slice-of-laodicea/Aside from working with members of cults and exposing false teachers, it is necessary to record exactly what is happening in the church today. I have often been called intolerant, mean and unloving because I have had the audacity to expose false teachings. But Ingrid addresses this excellently:
We live in a nation where plain speaking is currently viewed as mean and unloving. There is tolerance for nearly everything but truth-telling. But if you saw someone running towards a cliff to a certain demise, how plain would your speech be? “Stop! Watch out! Don’t go there or you’ll die!” Those would be the words we would cry. Those who refuse to warn others spiritually in this fashion cannot truly believe that souls are in peril. If they saw eternity looming, and the yawning pit of hell that Christ spoke of so often while on earth, could they do anything else but use any and all means to spare some from that eternal torment?
